Your Three Favorite Pu'erh Teas

I’m just starting on my own pu’erh journey, so I really want to know:

What are your three absolute favorite pu’erh teas? The ones you just can’t live without?

Mandala – Wild Monk (sheng)
Mandala – Noble Mark (shou)
(I also really like Mandala Silver Buds…)
I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Mandala pu’erh, they are my favorite.

Mandala Wild Monk Sheng specifically 2012 harvest which is sold out, to echo stephanie’s comments..

These are some interesting responses so far. I recently bought Wild Monk but I haven’t tried it yet. I got the Wild Monk Raw Pu’erh 2012. Is that different than what you mentioned? I’m guessing yes because the item I bought is still in stock on the website. Thanks!

(I’m also showing 2012 available on the web site…)

looks like there are a few cakes left but i thought? garrett had said they were getting down to the last of it..

Oh man, I got lucky then! I thought that maybe you were referring to a tea that was harvested in 2012, but pressed in 2013, so it might have been something else completely.

Now I’m extra excited to try it!!!!

Hey there, pals! There are around 14 or 15 cakes left of the 2012 Wild Monk last I checked in the vault. I bought a tong so I have 7 cakes to age! I cannot believe that there are so few left. But I did just do a session with the 2014 Wild Monk yesterday and loved it.

it’s got a smokey feel to it, so hopefully that doesn’t turn you off. When i first started getting in to puerh (i still consider myself a total noob) i tried this one and immediately bought a cake…then bought a second one and a 2014 pressing when garrett said they might go away. I haven’t yet bought a cake of anything else, though i do enjoy Imperial Dark Bulang Gong Ting – 2009/Noble mark/Special Dark and a number of others from Mandala…

Stacy also has a few really nice puerhs that are loose that i have really enjoyed too

Thanks for the info, Sil. I don’t mind a tea with a little smoke, as long as it’s not the only flavor.

Stephanie mentioned Butiki, too. I’ll have a look at those!

Wow! Thanks for the love everyone. This thread just put a big smile on my face. I really really really am happy that each of you are out there in the world. Not just because you like/buy our tea, but because, well, you’re all just such good people.

So many people listed sheng or shou, even though I didn’t know to ask for that. Thank you! It’s helpful. :)
