The best "Lion" tea you've had?

Okay, it’s no secret. I love lions. I’m named after them. I get very nerdy about them.

I would love to find a nice lion-themed tea to add to my repertoire of teas I keep on hand at home (tea name, not brand name).

Anyone have any favorites? I haven’t tried any, though a search here on Steepster yields a handful of results, including some teas from “Lion Mountain” in China.

Help me fulfill my inner lion (or my inner geek, haha)!

Oh my gosh, a specific harvest of Butiki’s Hattialli Golden Lion Assam is my favorite tea of all time. Unfortunately, they don’t have any for sale right now, but they DO have a Hattialli Golden Paw Assam. Also good but not as magical as the other.

I am not typically a devotee of Assam, but I’d be willing to give it a shot! Too bad they are out right now!

I have just learned that the original Long Jing (Dragon Well) tea and the best quality one is from Lion Peak region and is thusly named. I am really tempted to seek some out now. I can’t really find a company selling it that I know too much about their reputation though. The best bet I have so far is Seven Cups, but wooooo that’s a pricey tea! About 30 bucks for 25 grams! May have to start a penny jar.

You could experiment with Ceylon’s ( the lion is the tea boards symbol of authenticity). My favourite right now is this one : http://www.capitaltea.com/shop/product.php?productid=76&cat=0&page=1. It really delivers on the notes promised.
