Lowered shipping prices and a new Gift Box option!

Hey all! Just wanted to let you guys know that I’ve lowered shipping prices for all destinations!

USA: $6.50, Free after $50
Canada: $10, Free after $75
All other countries: $18

I am also going to be adding The Gift Box in the near future, which will come out to $15 for USA and $20 for Canada. It will contain an ounce of Golden Orchid and a free hand-written gift message shipped in a cute little 4×4×4″ box :) There will also be the option to add a tea infuser for a few extra bucks.

I would love any feedback!

All the best,
Brenden

Lowered is always good.
As a Canadian, I just like when shipping charges are clearly stated on the web site. Flat shipping is also a plus in my books, you don’t have to keep adding items to a cart to see where the threshold is where it suddenly jumps up several dollars.
Flat shipping and then free at a dollar value makes it easy for your customers to decide how to place their orders to fit their budgets.

I’m not the type that would use a gift feature, so I will let others voice their opinions on that. :))

:) Thanks for the reassurance, Dexter! Glad you like the way I’ve set my shipping up :)

I can totally see doing the GO giftbox. As a matter of fact, my long-suffering assistant might need one of those.

Do you think it should have the option to add an infuser?

MzPriss said

I think that is good as an option because not everyone has one. My assistant has already gotten a crazy teaware habit (wonder where she got that???) but not everyone who gets a present of loose leaf tea will have one so I def think it should be an option.

I have NO IDEA where she might have gotten that from ;)

While I don’t think I’ll have much of a problem hitting free shipping when the time comes around that I’m allowed to make an order lower shipping is always better.

I’m just finishing of my sample of GO now as I type and think it would make a lovely and thoughtful gift (one I wouldn’t mind getting myself ;) )

Hehe, I think a lot of people might want to get themselves one of these boxes ;)

I love having the option of getting FREE shipping, and I have already benefited from that a lot, so…THANK YOU :-)

The GO gift box is a great idea. I do gift tea occasionally to people who have had only tea bags in their lives. I have bought infusers separately to gift as well, cause I don’t want ANY of my tea people to go on using those awful tiny mini tea balls!

So yeah, to have it as an option is a great idea IMHO.

Doesn’t good tea just blow their minds, after only supermarket bagged stuff?

Oh Yeah, Marzi! And being the tea enthusiast that I am, i want to convert people all the time…but it’s hard when you just want to force a cup on them when they come to your house…I get the “sounds good, but do you have coffee instead?”

The sneaky fairy in me has found a new way: you gift them with a starter kit of “friendly teas” ( GO is definitely one of those) and they feel bad NOT trying cause it’s a gift, right? And then, they just get their mind blowing experience :-)

Then you can do the groovy “I told you so” dance.

That’s my idea, and why I choose GO for the ‘mission’…

I use GO as a secret weapon to pull non-tea-drinkers in and away from the dark side…muahaha ;)

Lowered shipping = good
Gift boxes = super. Adding an infuser would be great

If you don’t mind a suggestion: Cold tea is more accessible sometimes. Not everyone enjoys hot tea (WHAT????). So..

How about a Northern Sweet Tea gift set as a summer special? Some sort of infuser glass or pitcher, GO, some elderberries….

I’m making progress with my fam by getting them into good teas as a cold brew, then I get em hooked on the hot tea! Anyways, just a thought. I know a few people that I’d buy this for, if something were available. :)

Northern Sweet Tea gift set is a great idea, too. I’m having a hard time finding a place that sells elderberries. Neither of my usual places have ’em. I may have to go internet.

I got some from Amazon, Cheri. They should be here soon. I can let you know about the quality if you’re interested, once they get here.

I am currently switching over to wildcrafted elderberries. Once that switch is done, I will be selling those :)

I could sell a NST gift box…but I can’t sell maple…do you think that a recipe card stating the proper amounts of various sweeteners would be good enough?

Also, I don’t have quite enough time left this summer for a NST set, but I will definitely put that on the agenda for next summer!

You could get a small bottle of real maple syrup to include from somewhere local to you, I’m sure.

Oh I could definitely do that but I don’t have the licensing required to sell packaged food.

I think a recipe card would be fine. I think Maple is available in most areas and is pretty easy to get. I’d buy the kit and just add a bottle if I gave it as a gift. The tea and elderberries are harder to source, IMO.

Sounds good :) Yeah, It’ll most likely be another 3 or 4 weeks before I switch the elderberries out, and rolling out an iced tea package at that point wouldn’t make much sense.

I guess that makes sense about licensing. I didn’t think about that. But I agree with Sarsonator. If I were giving it as a gift, I’d just get a small bottle and include it.

How many teas do you offer as samples? And what is shipping on those?

Hi Lariel! Sorry I missed this message! I’m currently offering 10 options for samples if I remember correctly. USA samples ship for free, and $5 worldwide. :)

Okay, I’ll have to try some in the future.

:) I hope you do!

Do you have any plans to offer more samples in the future? I realize it’s probably more difficult for smaller companies to offer a full range of samples compared to someplace like Adagio, but it’s such a help being able to try teas before placing a full order. I just picked up a sampler pack but there were a few that weren’t on the sampler list that I’d love to buy samples of. Anyway, I’m looking forward to tying your teas!

Eventually I want to offer 25 sample options, but yeah, it’s definitely just not possible yet for me :/

Good sample choices, by the way! :)

That’s understandable. And thanks, I’m excited to try them.

I want to try Golden Orchid, and Elder Grove.

Both of those are fine choices too! If I were you I would also add Ailaoshan Black :)

(I also HIGHLY recommend adding Ailaoshan Black! Sorry, just adding my two cents, couldn’t help myself…)

I was eyeing the Fujian black, actually.

They’re all good! One suggestion though, Elder Grove is super duper cheap, so you may want to choose are more expensive tea to sample and just buy an ounce of Elder Grove. Just a thought! :)

EDIT: Nevermind, I forgot about the free shipping on samples! La dee dah! :P

Elder Grove sounds good, but I don’t like chicory.

I have no idea what chicory tastes like… But I find Elder Grove quite tasty! Somewhat like a mulled apple cider but with the deeper elderberry flavor in there. And caffeine free! <3

If you want, I could send you a sample. :)

I love love Elder Grove.

Mulled Cider? I like that.

The chicory is very carefully blended…simply adding depth to the body. There’s no bitterness or anything either :)

My girlfriend also dislikes chicory, and I let her fall in love with Elder Grove before telling her ;)
