Maison des Trois Thés?
I scored a large tea stash and empty tins from a Freecycler who is moving overseas and ran out of luggage space. Among my new treasures is a large box of “pu er en vrac” from Maison de Trois Thés, apparently quite the tea house in the middle of Paris. Wondering if anyone has any info about this as my internet searches have come up short (other than the fact that this is one of the most expensive tea shops around, apparently).
Yes, La Maison is certainly one of the finest tea experiences one can find in France (in Europe?) Madame Tseng, the proprietor, has established one of the most authentic abodes dedicated to true tea artistry.
Now, I know nothing about the current state of things. Whether the tea shop is even still around, or if any comparable places have cropped up. But if La Maison still stands, you will surely find no better place to indulge the tea mind.
Mme Tseng is practically the inspiration for the book, The Time of Tea. Author Pasqualini is clearly enamored with her art, and counts her among his mentors. The book is easily one of the most thoughtful and well-informed texts on tea and tea culture, and littered with references to La Maison des Trois Thes.
