how do you get the infuser out of the teapot without burning your fingers?
I just burn my fingers. But now that Libertea’s suggested the two-pot method, I might try that when I get around to purchasing a second pot.
I like the two pot method. But I think my daily solution will be to use an after-market infuser basket (plastic!) instead of the metal, no-handle basket the teapots come with.
You might look into a tea maker like the Teavana Perfect Tea Maker or the Adagio InGenuiTea. Then there is always the Breville…I love that thing.
Burn you fingers ‘til they don’t hurt.
That’s the manly way to do it, just saying.
I know this is two years old, but have a tip to share that I discovered a few days ago and thought others may find useful… (I did check the forum rules, and couldn’t see anything about not adding to older discussions, if they were a certain age – sorry if I’m doing something wrong, but not worth a new post, when great info already here)
Toast tongs work brilliantly for me to take out the infuser… (like these – http://www.lakeland.co.uk/14236/Magnetic-Toast-Tongs )
When I’m using a metal pot, I also use them to take the lid on and off (it has a small finial that’s easy to grip).
No more burnt fingers, or tea towels dripping in the brew. :-)
