Steepster's bugs of the day...
Dear Steepster, today I spent 10 minutes before been allowed to leave a poor little message…it failed twice before you left me do so…
Then I wanted to like a review and you sent me back to the Dashboard, so I insisted…I am French…I am a subborn by nature…Impossible n’est pas français…but I have to surrender for now…ages to get a page uploaded, impossible to like a review…I’ll come back tonight…hope you’ll getting better soon because I am losing patience (but I know I am not a patient person)
The bugs have made it difficult to use the site at all. I’ve barely been on the last month because of it.
It is immensely frustrating, just today I had a friend ask if she should sign up for steepster and I honestly could not recommend it at the moment. I told her I would let her know when/if it gets fixed, then I would say definitely sign up.
I am so far behind on my tea reviews- Steepster is never working when I am around to post for weeks now. :( I just put two very brief reviews up from memory (which I hate doing) but I already don’t see them listed. I thought it would be a good sign that I could like reviews again, but that function keeps coming and going, too. Very frustrating to say the least.
I haven’t been using Steepster in a long time because of these issues, I know it’s a free site and claims to still be in Beta but a large part of me is very frustrated at the moment. As it stands I do not receive notifications for messages I receive and my dashboard is stuck from tasting notes several hours ago. :(
I’m stubbornly still spending a lot of time on the site. It does update periodically, and I’ve found ways to get around most of the issues.
When my dashboard doesn’t update, I go to the explore tab and click on the all tasting notes link and read from there. Yes, you have to see notes of those you aren’t following, but honestly, it’s caused me to add people to follow, where I might not be exposed to them otherwise.
When the discussion threads aren’t updating, you can also see the threads with the most recent replies listed in the explore tab on the bottom left.
On my tasting notes, it is a little frustrating when they don’t pop up automatically, and when the dashboard is down, not everyone sees them, but they are there in the Tealog, so I just go check there to see if there are any comments to respond to. This definitely causes delays in the usual way of conversing on steepster, since people aren’t likely to see the replies to comments because the notices aren’t updating.
I’m still hanging on because I love this site. Hopefully they can fix the bugs soon.
I still am on the site, and I’m trying. Discussions is the part that I struggle with workarounds for, and that I miss the most.
The other one that catches me out is when my likes on people’s tasting notes don’t seem to stick. Earlier today, I liked and commented on a bunch of notes. The comments are still there, but the likes aren’t.
I too am stubbornly sticking around, maneuvering around and posting my tasting notes as usual (assuming I can) but it is sad, I miss the way it used to be around here.
I also check the site just as regularly as ever. It’s a lot more difficult to manage so I’ve almost entirely given up on checking through my phone, but when I’m at work I catch up and try to contribute as best I can. It’s frustrating but it happens. I hope that it can be brought back to working order, but if not I will enjoy the years I had it. Get better, Steepster! :)
i did make new tea fiends thru explorer :) my likes dont stick. im also on instagram and finding more tea lovers there. i even “convert” a guy yesterday to come back to Steepster( he wasnt very active, just lurking)
I’m still around but I found Steepster even worst Saturday, Instagram seems to be a nice place for tea as well !
