Looking for Lupicia Recommendations!

I am planning on making a Lupicia order very soon, as I am told that they only carry their Sweet Autumn tea until the end of October. So with this in mind, I would very much like to hear my fellow Steepsterites’ favorite teas from Lupicia to help me make up my mind regarding what to order… :D

Thanks for your help!

Caramel & Rum rooibos is my favorite rooibos from there. :)

I love Melon OOlong, Golden Honeydew, Momo Oolong Super Grade, also Ripe Mango Oolong is super good too!

Melon Oolong is a definite yes for my order. The Ripe Mango also sounds amazing but I haven’t tried it yet. Does it have strong juicy flavor like the Melon?

I have tried it in the store twice. It was always brewed cold. And it tasted super sour and awful. But Hot! Hot is good. It does have a strong juicy flavor like the Melon Oolong. It’s delicious! I am gonna have to pick up some on my next visit. Hope you have fun at Lupicia (:

Okay, thanks. I’m not actually going to a store, just an online order. I was hoping to wait until the supposed after-Christmas sale, but I want that Sweet Autumn!

Seconding the Caramel & Rum rooibos, it’s one of my favorite rooibos teas anywhere. For oolongs their Melon, Pineapple, Ripe Mango, and Muscat are great (I’m enjoying a cup of that one right now).

The Strawberry & Vanilla green is spectacular. I just bought some things at the Lupicia store in Century City and found out they didn’t carry it in that store, which was VERY annoying. For black options Cookie is very good, as is Banane Chocolat. And their Chocolate & Strawberry Puer is one of my very favorites. A few of the San Francisco blends are worth snagging too – the Golden Honey Dew is incredible if you like melon flavors, and Te de Frutas is a really nice evening cup.

Has anyone tried the new Yuzu and Kumquat teas? They sound lovely and I really like citrus. Would love to hear any opinions! :D

The Yuzu tea is very good. I had it iced though.

Having gone by the store, my picks for Autumn teas would be Au Chocolat and Milk Caramel. Marron Chocolat is good if you like chestnuts.

Ask Anna about the oolongs, whites, and greens. :) I’ve had a Mariage Freres Yuzu, and would definitely consider the flavour from another company. Yuzu is so delicious.

I didn’t have any of this to send you, but I ADORE Kotobuki.

I’m a pretty big fan of fruit flavored oolongs and this is a really nice. Juicy plum in a light oolong that’s not too green or floral for me. I will order more of this one next time….

MELON OOLONG. Also, the Napa Blanc (green) and Sunny Fruits Puer smell really really good. I could yoink some samples to send to you from the SSTTB2…

Oh, I also love Chaud les Marrons!, it’s more of a “chestnuts roasting on an open fire” chestnut flavour than just the creamy nuttiness.

I actually have tried Napa Blanc and I have a sample of Sunny Fruits Puer from a swap, so no need!

I don’t see one currently called Chaud les Marrons! There’s one called Joyeux Noel that’s a black base with roasted chestnuts though.

That is probably it, just named for Christmas. :) I think there are 6 teas in the box? One of the orzo, sakumburo (sp), chocolate eg, and my melon oolong. :)

Cameron B you send me the sample of pinneapple oolong and now all I can think about is Lupicia:) Now I see this thread, doh! Its like they are calling my name. So one of the teas I have been eyeing is the honey dew melon. It looks like they are out online. Does Lupicia work like H &S where you can call a store and have them ship you stuff from the store? Could I call one of the SF stores and still get the SF blends?

The SF blends were available online briefly. They can’t ship from the store though, I asked.

TeaTiff, I’m sure you could find a kindhearted Steepsterite to pick some up and ship it to you.

Cookies is a favorite of many on here. I second the Strawberry Chocolate Puer. Momoko is really delicious peaches and cream. I didn’t think I liked peach teas until I tried theirs. I preferred their plain chestnut to the chocolate version. They are a little astringent, so keep that in mind when deciding.

I didn’t realize they had autumn only teas! Off to the website to check it out and try to resist an order.

Definitely try a flavored oolong – I’ve loved all of them that I’ve tried, especially Muscat oolong.

Absolutely! Melon Oolong is a definite yes, and I’m pondering picking up some Ripe Mango as well. And then Dexter went and recommended the Kotobuki… Too many oolongs!

The ginger oolong was a little meh. I think it didn’t get great reviews here either.

I’m not a ginger fan so there’s no danger of me trying that anytime soon. :P

I like having the Champagne Rose flavored tea in the cabinet for when guests come over. There is something lovely and old fashioned about their La Belle Epoque, and their Au Lait makes a brilliant cup of tea with milk. Sakurambo is gorgeously strange tea that I have in my cabinet too, along with Carol from their xmas collection and Muscat. They are interesting as well.
