I’m not sure if it’ll be monthly or not, but my tea bill will be going up now that I’m going to be having a daily bowl of matcha.
…a lot. Some months more than others.
Is that counting just tea, or teaware as well?
A lot, either way.
I seriously have well over $1,000 worth in teaware. And then on teas… gods. If i saved all that money, I’d have a really healthy savings account. But what’s the point of money if not to let one immerse themselves in the pleasures of life?
I agree. At least the $ isn’t going to soda and liquor and other unhealthy (and sometimes illegal) things. But there is such a thing as spending outside your means w/ tea as much as anything.
I allow myself no more then $25/ mo on tea or tea related stuff and I don’t do that every month. See I have other “vices” too, like yarn and crochet mags. Ooh I just thought of something, I can crochet tea cozies then I am incorporating 2 delights in one and if I drink tea at the same time…yeah that’s the idea
ooo then sell them on etsy so we all can buy then to fund your habit ;)
Far too much money.
One time, I had to write on my grocery list in black, thick marker: “DON’T BUY TEA”
my fiances job while we shop is to rush me out of the tea isle
I think the more interesting question would be “How much has your tea/ware spending increased since finding steepster?” lol:)
Haha, agreed. It’s a better question. Steepster is making me want to purchase that sorapot!
I don’t think they make percentages that large! :)
I spend about 300-500$ at a go, and then realize what i’ve done and don’t buy anymore for 3-6 months. yea..this month was one of those i went a wee bit crazy
I never used to spend all that much… until I discovered Steepster.
I probably average about $25-30 per month. It’s not terrible, but there are so many other teas I want to try. If I indulged in buying everything I wanted, I’d probably spend close to $150 per month! I wish that more sites offered cheap sample sizes of their teas.
i am thinking that now i found steepster i can buy full sizes of some stuff and swap! we’ll see if that works out now that there is private messaging
I try to keep it $30/month, a dollar a day. As long as I keep it under $50/month I’m in okay shape, because otherwise I would be drinking a cup of coffee at coffee shops anyways.
That’s what I aim for, but it doesn’t seem to work. I have to just get off Steepster…
Haha, I hear you! I keep wanting to try new things… I have a bad habit of buying more tea while waiting for one shipment to arrive. (Ex. I want chocolate flavored black so I order it, but while waiting for it my craving gets worse and I’m looking for another chocolate black from another company…)
Haha! I do tend to order while I’m waiting for an order on occassion, but it’s never times so closely related.
Oh I have no idea how much I spend on tea per month… but I do know that even when I have some at home, that I’ll buy a tea that I see anyway. It’s such a bad habit!
At the moment I only spend maybe…..about 10-15 on tea, or 15-25 on teaware. I havn’t actively budgeted myself consistantly, that is just how it has worked out that I can spend a month so far. (I don’t get teaware much.) As much as it drives me batty sometimes, it is just as well, because I can’t really afford much more then that and I am afraid of getting too much of it and then finding that some of it goes stale before I really try it. Not to mention limited room to put tea and my Dad becoming more worried about my tea spending habits. Now, If I could find more tea cafe’s that would be a major bonus, that would enable me to be able to be more selective about what I buy.
