If you’re good at it, maybe teach the group how to eyeball the correct temp for different teas. Even if you are good at it, also give examples of different tea thermometers for people, like me, that will never be good at “winging” anything lol!:)

Reinfusing leaves, unsweetened iced tea, and filable paper filters. It probably doesn’t dawn on a lot of even current tea drinkers that you can resteep leaves or fill your own bags giving you the convenience of bagged tea w/ better quality, more variety, and better control of parameters. As for unsweetened iced tea, I’m not saying they have to like it, but again it’s probably not even in their relm of comprehension. I think they should at least try it and then decide if they like it or not.

There isn’t a tea club at my school but I’m in charge of a “tea event” every year for one of my clubs. We have a traditional Chinese tea tasting, play games based on tea trivia, win tea-related raffle prizes, and had a presentation by a local tea shop owner. Here’s the link to our event: http://ncam.wordpress.com/activities/events/tea-party-on-the-hill/ We made handouts and stuff for the event you can find avaliable for download too.

What kind of a school are you attending? The type of school makes a difference in how you approach it.

You might check out this thread for some ideas. It still amazes me how many great ideas that the Steepsters offer.

love the idea.
I guess it would be a very active tea club in your school, if you teach them how to prepare a good cup of tea in traditional Gongfu style.
If for Gongfu style, you still miss the filter, accessories set, pitcher, and the tea cup saucer and serving tray.

Besides, tea history, culture and health benefits would be a hit. Also, if possible, teach people how to appreciate a good cup of tea, from its leaves, tea fragrance, taste, month feeling and so on.

my last idea is tea swap. Swap the teas with other tea lovers at your school, so they can taste different types of tea.
