White Tea Brownies from Sanctuary T

Yes, yes, I admit it. I bought them when they were offered as the steepster select item. How could I resist?

I seriously cannot believe that they arrived today though! Super fast!

These are delicious. Quite possibly the best brownies I’ve ever tasted, and that includes ones that I’ve made from scratch … and I guess I should also note that I used to work at Mrs. Fields before they started using frozen dough… so I’ve tasted a lot of brownies in my time. They are rich and fudge-y and oh sooooo good.

I’ve even hidden them so that nobody else in the house gets their paws on them and eats them… these are my indulgence!

Mine will be here Tues at the earliest… Stupid Labor Day… why must you keep me from my brownies?

Wow, I should have bought some when I had the chance. :-(

Cofftea said

They’re still in stock. Just not on sale. :(

Exactly

Nevertheless, I think I have done enough damage…Lupicia, Chicago Tea Garden, Obubu, and ThePuriTea in 4 days. Yikes! Oh, and Tea Gschwendner.

Holy crap Rachel, you just made me feel not so bad about $113 in matcha in one order. Thank you:) Enjoy your tea!… but you need something to eat w/ it;)

Go ahead and add Teavana to that list.

Mmmm… now you are making me regret not buying them – lol – I can’t spend money though!

I used the “it’s not tea or wares” rationalization… and it worked beauTEAfully!

Caitlin said

That is a good rationalization, but I just shouldn’t spend money on anything period – haha

Can you taste the white tea?

I would like to know this too. I can’t imagine there being any white tea flavor that survived the chocolate. It would be like me making a chocolate flavored white tea.

Cofftea said

Oh Frank… a chocolate rose white tea! White chocolate rose? Maybe w/ a hint of vanilla in them… yes, please!

To be truthful, when I tasted my first brownie yesterday, I wasn’t actually even looking for the tea flavor… I was just loving the fudge-y rich goodness. I will have to taste another before I can offer a response.

I may be able to arrange a discount on them along with some of their other tea treats too. It might take a little while since I have intermittent internet connection because my awful living situation has made me temporarily homeless. But I’ll certainly see what I can do.

OMG – homeless?? I’m so sorry! Do you have something else lined up so it doesn’t last too long?

Cofftea said

Oh my gosh! I’m praying for you… but awful living situations aren’t fun either- I feel for ya there.

Oh No… I am so sorry. I truly hope you find a solution soon. Keep in touch and update us with your progress. Good luck!

Oh, wow, hope all works itself out soon! Keep us posted!

Luckily I have good friends in the city willing to put me up for a little while. It’s just the moving an entire apartment of furniture in and out of an apartment/storage place every couple days that’s getting old fast. And finding an apartment here can just be a slow, painful process that we’ll have to repeat. Thanks for all the good wishes though!

For those that have not recieved your brownies yet? Does your tacking still say “processing”?

Cofftea said

JUST recieved my brownies!!! (Even though online it says my order is still processing) Because the box was so large, the mail lady brought them right to my door saving me a trip out in this INSANE wind and giving my dog a treat. Cost charged for shipping, $2.24. Actual shipping cost, $8.20. This fact rationalizes the cost of the brownies even further! And the free sample and hand written thank you note is a really nice touch. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go make some chai and dive in!

OK… white tea wise… the flavor of the white tea is not real distinct, and I can’t really tell you that it’s there or not… sometimes, I think I can taste it, and sometimes the flavor is more elusive. However, if it were omitted… I can’t tell you that these would taste quite the same.

That being said… these are still amazing… and well worth purchasing. Better than any brownie I’ve ever made, that’s for sure!

! I had these in my cart that day and then in the end decided it would not be good for my face, diet, or wallet to buy them. I’m kind of regretting it now.

But if the white tea isn’t all that distinct then i’m a little less regretful :)

Cofftea said

Acne and chocolate connections have been debunked… as for you wallet, buying them on sale would be less harmful… and chocolate, tea, and nuts are all really good for you! Antioxidants by the truck load! Definitely better for you than regular brownies:)

Well, it’s not a myth for me. Eating greasy/oily food, or chocolate makes my face unhappy. When I don’t have chocolate my face is perfect hahah!

Cofftea said

Really? That’s sad. I’ve even heard of chocolate scrubs.
