Broader Horizons TTB - Interest?

I’d been wanting to start an unflavored TTB for quite a while, and as I went looking through past TTBs for inspiration I noticed that they ended up being mainly flavored teas, and even further mostly flavored black teas. This gave me the idea for a TTB exclusively comprised of unflavored teas of all types. Blacks, greens, oolong, pu-erh, white… anything goes. The idea being to expose yourself to teas you may not have picked up for yourself.

Since the idea is to broaden your horizons I think it would be a good idea to limit the number of teas per supplier as well. Perhaps focusing on lesser reviewed companies if possible. And small sample sizes of teas to promote lots of tasting.

I’d say it would be open to North America as long as there are people willing to ship across the border. And I would probably start after Thanksgiving or in the new year.

I’m looking to gauge interest before I work on further details.

This sounds great! I’m really getting in to trying more unflavored teas but find it hard to pick out stuff to try when many of the names still sort of mean nothing to me yet (seeing something like Bi Luo Chun or Tieguanyin is not like seeing Vanilla Black Tea and thinking “I know what that means and I know I’ll probably like it!”).

I totally understand. There’s so much jargon to learn, and it’s especially hard when it’s a translation with 3 different ways to spell it :)

So true! And it seems like there is always something new to find out. Like purple tea! I had no idea it existed until a week ago and yellow!

I’m right there with you…not very knowledgeable about unflavored teas yet, but definitely open to learning and tasting!

I would be really into this. I’m on a straight tea kick, and I have a lot of really excellent stuff that I’d like to share. I’m in Manitoba, Canada.
