The company is legitimate and run by my wife and I in Hong Kong. Address is our office in 148 Des Voeux Road in Central Hong Kong. I will update the website accordingly. Thanks for everyone’s feedback and it is much appreciated. Our company is in it’s infancy stage and we are still negotiating pricing with our suppliers. I can see that nobody is happy with the pricing so far, which is great feedback. Our supply chain costs are the reason for the markup as we are including a large majority of the shipping costs into the price. We are looking to run a free shipping promotion soon along with a 20% discount promotion. I’m fully authorized to distribute the products from all suppliers listed on my website and the marketing materials are from the suppliers. My wife and I are also developing custom blends as we speak. Our feature listing is Jenier Tea from England. Also, the Teavivre products are the 100g sizes with a portion of the shipping included in the price. Thanks again everyone for the feedback.

I apologize if I’m incorrect, but this seems a bit suspicious. The photos on the site all have a different stye and seem to be taken directly from other retailers. I noticed a few I recognize as coming from Teavivre. If, as the About Us section says, they’re working with tea masters with 30 year experience why not sell their own tea? The ones from Teavivre have ~250% price increase. The logo is also obviously not designed for them. Plus no phone number or email to contact them on, only an online form. And no social media.
Obviously I could be wrong. But… all combined it seems off.

Ouch, very pricey. I am curious as to why the price point of $49.00 (or more) for 3.5 ounces of tea? What makes it special? Not being snarky, just curious.

Maybe it’s a joke? Poking fun at the radical mark-up of tea by middlemen?

This text is copied word for word from Teavivre (about Golden Monkey):

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Produced in Fuding, Fujian(福建), China
Harvest Time: April 10, 2014
Tea leaves are tight as needles, conspicuous golden tips, slightly curly
Bright orange yellow liquor when brewed
Sweet taste, followed with fruity fragrance and potato smell
Low caffeine (less than 20% of a cup of coffee)
Coming from Fujian, the Golden Monkey is made of the fresh buds and leaves of Fuding Pekoe, by lightly sun withering, rolling, fermentation and drying. Golden Monkey has the particular aroma of black tea. You could scent the fruity flavor through every sip of the tea.

The golden hairy tips truly make this tea more attractive. This is one reason why it is called Golden Monkey. Another reason is its monkey-claw-liked shape of the dry tea, which is in golden and black color. When brewed, the Golden Monkey Tea tastes brisk and smooth for the first sip, presenting a distinctive flavor. If you like stronger flavor, you could brew for a longer time. The sweet aftertaste could act faster for thicker liquid. You could only feel it when trying by yourself.

Certificate of Analyze by Eurofins

Certificate No.: AR-14-SU-013133-01
Quality Safety Results of Analysis

The only difference is the price $59.99 instead of $17.90!!!!

Must be a joke.

Why would I buy tea from you that I can buy less expensively and more flexibly from the originator?

Also, your ‘Tea information’ page appears to be largely plagiarized from http://www.tea.co.uk/tea-a-brief-history

Are the listed prices in US dollars or Hong Kong dollars?

AnnaEA select said

I think it must be USD. The exchange rate is 1USD = 7.75HKD, which would make their teas all under 10USD.

Not interested at your prices. If I want tea from Teavivre I will order direct from Teavivre whose prices are much lower.

Hello Everyone. Just wanted to post an update on the Online Tea Cup site development. Based on the feedback from everyone, I have been making some good progress renegotiating pricing with my suppliers. All of the pricing for the “Tea from England” product section has now been updated. These are our featured teas from Jenier. I believe my pricing is now competitive with all suppliers on the market, including Jenier directly. All prices for the products are US dollars, and I will make a change on the site to note the currency. All other tea prices on the site are still in development mode. I am also in the process of creating a new logo for the site, and I will be updating the content on the About Us, Contact Us, and Tea Information pages to incorporate everyone’s feedback. I should have most of this work completed by the end of the week. I would like to thank everyone again for their candid feedback. This has been extremely helpful, and it is very much appreciated.
