I don’t often have food with my tea but I’ve had fresh strawberries with a floral oolong and was in heaven.

Cheese makes many teas taste sweeter to me, which I notice a lot since I don’t add sugar. I drink tea with breakfast most days now, and have it with elevenses (usually cheese, crackers, Chex Mix, or something along those lines) or with afternoon tea time snacks which are usually sweeter than elevenses – usually cake, pie, or cookies.

I just had spearmint lemon tea with Kraft Dinner. Don’t do it!

Otherwise, I’m a big fan of black tea with pancakes. I also love iced matcha with sushi.

When I have tea for tea, I have it without food. Some foods though I just like to have with tea- like sandwiches, chinese food, cookies and pastries….
Tea with food though is usually ones that aren’t too remarkable on their own but are robust enough to serve as an accompaniment.

So when everyone is saying tea “with” food, do you mean you have the tea and food in your mouth at the same time? Or is it more like the usually take a couple bits, then a sip, etc? I canNOT do food and drink in my mouth at the same time. shudders

(unless it’s toast dipped in tea. I can do that :)

I can’t do toast in tea. Soggy bread gives me the shudders. :)

But generally for me it is tea and then food, etc. Chocolate and tea, though, that is quite nice when the chocolate melts with the heat of the tea and the flavors combine…

I usually think of it as sips of tea between bites, or before and after a meal. Like if you order tea instead of water or soda at a restaurant.
I’ve never had toast dipped in tea. I’ve done that with coffee though.

No, just sipping tea and eating food. Not both in your mouth at the same time!

Glad we cleared that up!

I’m still freaked out about toast in tea. Bleck.

I used to be extremely sensitive about my food, and nothing could touch. Not just a separation between wet and dry but no putting things on or near each other. I’ve mostly gotten over it but with very few exceptions (hot turkey sandwiches!) I hate liquids on dry things. Cake and ice cream really need separate dishes.
