Added another vendor over the weekend – Kilian Tea out of St. Louis! Susan is a Specialty Tea Institute alumnus and will be doing a presentation as well.

That’s 11 tea vendors, 3 craft vendors and another 5 tea vendors still in discussion. We are gonna be full of tea, folks!

Hi everyone! If you feel the urge to raise some hype on the social media (I am so hip with my slang hehe) feel free to use #midwestteafest so we can make our little network of tea friends grow :)

Forgot to mention that Julia from Bingley’s is going to be teaching a hands-on blend your own tea workshop at the festival!

There will be an additional cost associated with this which has yet to be determined and attendance will be limited. You will be able to get your spot in this workshop when you purchase your admission!

Some updates to start the month:

Elyse Petersen of Tealet will be speaking on the importance of direct trade in the tea industry.

We are adding to our lineup of intensive additional-fee workshops. Tim Smith from Tea Smith in Omaha is going to be teaching a Tea101 workshop and Stacie Robertson from Tea Market in Kansas City is going to do a matcha workshop!

If you bring a non-perishable food item or other donation on the Harvester’s Community Food Network list (www.harvesters.org), you will get 3 extra door prize drawing entries (limit 3 additional entries). There will be hourly door prizes of tea pots, cups, mugs, tea…

The website is now up and running at http://www.midwestteafest.com if you want more details.

VIP Admission Bundles will include:

-Mugs
-Tea gift baskets that include tea bowls, Smart Soak, mug cozies and tea samples
-Passes to the National World War I Museum
-Custom tea parties (must be within 50 mile radius of KC)

Admission is $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Admission sales and workshop registration will open on March 15 on that same website!

Still no weddings booked for that weekend, so I hope to be there…unless I book a gig or 2, cuz a girl’s gotta make a living :)

Hm. Hadn’t thought about it being the ides. I guess I’m okay since none of us involved are named Julius.
