So, this is my first tea from DAVIDsTEA. I was pleasantly surprised to find the box on my porch with all of my tea goodies in it, and it was wrapped so beautifully! Like some tea packaging slave painstakingly wrapped all of my items with care. But, anyway. On to the tea!
I am a red velvet fiend. Especially in cupcake form. To save my graceful figure (har har), I decided to indulge in this wonderfully aromatic tea. The dry tea smells amazing. I will admit I felt a little weird drinking a tea with sprinkles in it, but if it adds even a smidgeon of anything to the brewed form, then do whatcha gotta do! Since my electric kettle isn’t completely adjustable, I ended up brewing at 210F. I figured the cold cup would help settle things. I was surprised that with so many chocolate bits floating around in the tea, I ended up adding sugar. So much for the figure! The tea itself is delicious, and brewed a lovely dark red. The aroma is fairly strong, considering the flavor is slightly less than that. As the tea started to cool, I really started to get the feeling I was drinking some red velvet cake. Yum. Now I’m super excited about the other teas I purchased!
