Orange U Slim from Teas Etc
89

Yesterday as I went to my dentist appointment in the afternoon, the thermometer in the car said the temperature was 80 degrees! With this temperature to inspire me, I’m going to start trying a lot of my teas iced. I cold brewed this one all day in the fridge, and it was really good! I was able to get a second glass of tea from the same leaves as well. It was very mellow when cold brewed. You could tell the orange was there, but it was almost subliminal.

I will probably be preparing this tea again as a cold-brewed iced tea.

I’m almost sure that I drank this a couple of times without logging it. This is the kind of tea that you’ll drink if it’s in your cupboard, but you won’t necessarily go out of your way to purchase. It went pretty fast, and it reminded me a lot of Twinnings Prince of Wales tea.

It’s beginning to look a lot like iced tea season here in sunny Florida! That’s a good thing, cause I was tired of the un-Florida like cold weather this year. (Why put up with living in Florida if it’s going to be cold???) So I’m trying this one iced today. I like it better iced than hot. It seems like drinking it cold brings out a nice fresh apple flavor, which is a nice and cooling.

I’m upping the rating just a tad to reflect my joy in discovering how good this tea is iced.

I made some of this iced today. Really a good iced tea, I think I like it better iced than hot. It tastes very tropical and summery. I think that I’ll try to have some of this on hand for the really hot part of summer.

I’ve gotten a bit behind due to work and such, so I’m playing catch up with some reviewing today. This is a good standard tea. It reminds me some of the Prince Wales blend from Twinnings. It is a blend of several different kinds of teas, so the leaves are pretty non-homogeneous. The tea steeps up to a nice dark brown. To me, this tsates like a classic tea, and I enjoy it with a dash of soy creamer and sweetener.

This is the kind of tea I might order along with other teas to get free shipping. I like it, but if it wasn’t in the cabinet, I wouldn’t miss it. I’ll probably use it up pretty quickly, since it’s something you can reach for when you’re not in the mood for flavored teas, and I seem a little bit overwhelmed by the flavored black teas I have in the cabinet right now. I like them, but not everyday.

I had to go to a workshop today at the Orlando Convention Center, and they had a coffee shop there that carried this tea. While the tea was brewing, it smelled just like the cinnamon brooms they have in the grocery store in the fall. I had mine sweetened, with just a little bit of skim milk. It was deliciously spicy and hot. I’ll be adding this to the shopping list. I couldn’t really taste much tea, but the cinnamon was so good!!

Tangerine Ginger from Rishi Tea
86

i seriously think they need to rename this one to Ginger Tangerine. This is definitely ginger. Not the sweet pickled sushi ginger kind of vibe. This is the hot, I ate too many ginger altoids kind of ginger. (I must admit that I do that. I love ginger.) It has a nice hot ginger aftertaste that lingers. I think this would be a great tea to drink for a sore throat or an upset stomach. I’ve been having my spring time (Florida) allergy attacks, and this is clearing up everything beautifully. While this blend does have hibiscus and licorice in it, they are overpowered by the ginger. I do taste some citrus notes, but they don’t have the same punch as the ginger.

Just in case you weren’t sure about the ginger, the fact that the word ginger appears in this review 11 times should be a clue.

Bio

I’m a high school chemistry teacher. I enjoy most types of teas. I don’t have any tea shops in my hometown, so I usually order my teas online. Even though I’ve drunk tea for quite a number of years, ordering online for about 15 years, I am far from a tea expert. I just know what I like.
