I laughed at the description when I read it after I drank this cup. “Touch of vanilla”? I think not! It’s more like someone shoved a handful of vanilla up my nose. Granted the server at the store put in a ton more leaf than I would use for the size of the cup and I steeped it rather long, so that might be a contributing factor as to why the vanilla is so overpowering.

That being said, the vanilla is a nice, natural one. It doesn’t make my throat itch like some vanilla flavorings.

As it cools, the floral tones come out to play a little. It’s subtle and sweet- very pleasant. I’m still not picking out any particular oolong taste. I’m gong to try this out for a shorter second steep.

No, no, the vanilla is like that. I prefer the second steep as I find the vanilla so overpowering.

I did do a second steep and enjoyed it much more! It was more florally sweet and I could taste a little of the oolong.

I run, I sing, I drink tea. That’s the best description I have of me.

I’ve always enjoyed tea, but have just started trying out a lot more loose teas and varied brands. I’m really excited about a site like steepster so I can read about what people think about different teas.

Oh and I really hate Lipton tea. There’s something just awful about it and I can’t understand why nearly every local diner only has Lipton.

Also I’m on the search for a full-bodied, fruity blackberry tea. So if you have any suggestions feel free to throw them my way! :-)
