Golden Tips Assam from The Tao of Tea
87

There’s been a post office kerfluffle with the Malachi McCormick that Becky sent me (the tea is somewhere in the US – beyond that the post has no idea), so I picked this up at the grocery store to get me through mornings and fill up my thermos on weekdays.
It’s very tasty, and absolutely better than anything I expected from the grocery store. A lot of full leaves in this tin with a generous amount of golden tips. This tea is malty and sweet, and as I discovered one day very difficult to make bitter/astringent even if you forget it for awhile.

I also found out today that I got a 98% on my first linguistics test. :)

I’m so peeved about that missing box. I’m all for the Post Office, but this is just silly.

It’s definitely the longest I’ve ever had something missing in the mail. Or perhaps somewhere, right now, someone is thinking to themselves “my this Malachi McCormick is a good blend. And such a steal too!” And then they would cackle evilly to themselves.

And twirl the end of their waxed mustache, before returning to their task of steaming postmarked stamps off of envelopes for felonious purposes. Post thieves are the worst!

Congrats on the high score Claire!

Bio

I mostly drink straight tea, and some of my favorites are green teas and oolongs. I almost always have some sencha and tieguanyin in my tea cupboard (and if I run out, awesome, an excuse to buy tea). I do like some flavored teas, but can’t stand really sugary stuff so if it’s very sweet I probably won’t like it. I can’t drink milk so all my reviews are of tea without milk and sugar!
I’ve been getting into puerh the last few months.

Outside of Steepster I’m an English Lit major, and will FINALLY be graduating after the Fall 2013 semester. After that I plan on applying for graduate school to obtain a Master’s in Library Science. Currently I work as a student assistant in the Archives and Special Collections department of my school’s library.
I also like reading (of course) and playing video games when I have time for them.

I’m happy to send samples to anyone in the US or Canada. Just ask. :)
