I got really behind and have all kinds of backlog.
180F, 4g, 100ml gaiwan
Several short steeps- peach? floral, thick, melon
Longer steeps tastes changed to more fruity, hay, and honey.

Sipdown. It ended up being a decent tea for work, especially after I went to a better filter/mug setup for brewing.

It does get a little astringent when I added too much leaf. Most of the time it was pleasant if forgettable.

4g, 100ml gaiwan, 185F
Dry leaf – yam, malt, fruity
5/10/10/15/20/?/?/? I lost track of steep time. Happily it never suffered from my lack of attention. Tasted of malt, chocolate and yam. Very smooth. The flavors were very distinct and crisp and clean. 86

Pretty good. Creaminess and peppermint, but not overpowering. I might get some for the holiday season. It has stevia, but thankfully it’s not too sweet.

5.5g, 100ml gaiwan, 212F
Overall, I felt this tea was too new, too raw for me. I think it needs a little more age to knock off off some of the bitter elements I tasted.
5s – citrus, sharp, thick, finest edge of bitter/sour
5/10/10s- citrus, thick, oily, hint of dryness, green. Energy to head already.
10/20/25- didn’t like drinking this very much so I stopped. Could be I increased time too fast, could be it needs more time to mellow. I have more sample, so I’ll try again later.

R/30/60/90 – except I didn’t follow this at all
20s – soft, smooth 30s, 60s – sweet, thick mouthfeel.
1minX3 – springy, creamy, light.

Lemon and peppermint. Peppermint builds in flavor. Pretty standard.

So this is the first of my samples from Crimson Lotus, just trying a few things out.

Rinse- citrus, bright

Started off soft and green with just the edge of bitter, bright and lemon. Middle moved to bittersweet, mouthcoating. I really felt the qi in these steeps – floatly and a lot of energy in my jaw.
Once I was past the flash steeps, sweet and green. A little bit drying, sweet, smooth. I lost time here.
Sweet, citrus and bittersweet continued until the end.
I like this one, probably better with a little more age though.

Tea was a much needed sanity break during super loud family gathering. Plus it soothed my stomach after eating way too many sweets. Floral and soft.
