15 Tasting Notes
I was in a horrible mood but after eating some pasta and chicken I feel better. Anyway, remember fight between steeping Chocolate Rocket and Cream of Earl Grey? Well I ended up steeping Chocolate Rocket. So I decided to steep Cream of Earl Grey. I still can’t stand the smell but I still went with it. So I take a sip and it tastes exactly what it smells like! Once I finish my first two sips the tea starts tasting better. I rated it down because it doesn’t compare to my beloved Coco Chai Rooibos and Chocolate Rocket. Anyway I only need to try 3 more teas from my starter kit! Soooo excited!! Those teas are Forever Nuts, Japanese Sencha, and The Skinny. Can’t wait!
Not in the best mood this morning but oh well. Anyway, I go to my kit and take out Cinnamon Heart. I smell it and cinnamon hits me in the face. Most people don’t like the strong smell of cinnamon but I actually love it! Cinnamon Heart smells DELICIOUS! So I steep it for 5 minutes and then go for 8. I take a sip… Bland. I take another sip… Still bland… So I add some sugar cane sugar… Not as bland but still bland. I am super disappointed in this tea. It’s not like the flavors bad it’s just that there isn’t enough flavor! I still like Cinnamon Heart though better than Mango Madness so I ill rate it a bit higher.
Well this morning I woke up in a great mood and I feel fab-u-lous! So I go decide to make some tea and I’m conflicted between Cream of Earl Grey and Chocolate Rocket. I open Cream of Earl Grey and give it a wiff, not the best smelling tea around so I go open Chocolate Rocket and give that one a wiff and it smells AMAZING! So I steep for 5 minutes, let it cool down, and right now I’m drinking it. It’s like I’m drinking a milk chocolate, chocolate bar. This tea is so warm and cozy tasting! Probably the best Mate tea ever. The reason why I rated it down a bit is because it has a hint of slight bitter sour taste once the chocolate taste is gone. Overall Coco Chai Rooibos and Chocolate Rocket are my two favorite teas from the starter kit so far.
My second review yaay! The tea I decided to make from my starter kit is Mango Madness a white tea. It smells delicious! It smells like mango and orange and very citrusy. It smelt amazing so I was guessing it would taste amazing. I was semi right on that part. My first sip was citrus filled with not many other flavors coming through. I still very much enjoyed the tea but wish it had more layered flavors. Maybe next time I’ll steep it for 5 minutes instead of 7.
I was introduced to DAVID’sTEA last month thanks to my friend Kimberly (thanks Kim!) and ever since then I have been obsessed with going to DAVID’sTEA! I go there whenever I go to the mall. I CANNOT leave the mall without getting my oh so famous Forever Nuts latte with silk soy milk and agave. Anyway I decided to buy the DAVID’sTEA starter kit for people new to loose leaf tea and I decided to try it out this morning. I picked Coco Chai Rooibos and it smells AMAZING! Very fruity, tropical, with a gingery smell, and a hint of coconut. After getting off the smell I finally decided to steep it and taste it. BAM! I get a huge flavor of ginger but not too overpowering. I then taste hints of coconut and i even get a spicy like taste possibly from the pink peppercorns. The after taste though is very fruity and coconut like which i enjoy very very much. The reason why I rated it down a bit is because i was hoping for a whole bunch of different flavors with the first sip. The first sip and second sip and third sip are all ginger. You can only taste the other flavors in the after taste. Overall I realy enjoy this rooibos tea surprisingly.
