Been getting over a so-called “stomach flu” over the past couple days, which meant no tea (nooooooo!), pain, no sleep, etc. But I figured that since it’s day 3, a herbal tisane with peppermint shouldn’t literally hurt.
At first I was a little skeptical of the combination. Peppermint and coconut? Eh. Sounds weird. But the dry leaf smells pleasantly creamy. 10g is it.
As I was waiting for the tisane to do its brewing thang, the wafting aroma instantly reminded me of the tin of Cargo & James Candy Cane tea a family friend gifted me many moons ago, I think in my last year of high school. That was my first loose leaf ever! So this brings back good memories.
The taste is a muted peppermint with a hint of apple. The creaminess hasn’t held up past the brewing stage, unfortunately. Was hoping for some coconut but you can’t have everything in life.
I prefer the second steep. Creamy peppermint sans apple. Still not my ideal creamy peppermint tea. I’d prefer a prominent vanilla note and no fruity undertones.
