So. Low on the malty, but high on the tasty. Once I added a wallop of agave that is. and got over the fact that I let it steep for about 8 min, because stopping in the middle of a busy street to fish out a soggy tea bag is all kinds of awkward…
I was so jittery by the time my cup was empty, it lasted me all day. In fact, I can still feel it now.
But atleast it was better than the last time I tried this. Super satisfying in that amazing tea-high sorta way.
I am a little worried though. I read an article today, and saw a comment the other day (on one of my posts, but for some reason I can’t access the link that will show me the review so I can give the person credit! my apologies to whoever is owed!!) that made me think that maybe it’s not just me noticing the lack of maltiness in new Assam batches. Apparently there is a serious supply issue going on and the market seems to be readjusting. If it means a higher quality of life for those working the tea gardens, then I am all for it. I just wish it would happen sooner than later. For their sake, and ok a teeny bit mine as well!
Anyhow, here is a link to the article:

Weird coincidence, I had this one this morning, too. And normally the caffeine affects me not a whit, but it actually did make me jittery for a couple of hours! I was quite surprised.
