Drinking this with a big chocolate brownie for breakfast… Debating buying the Witching Hour blend, but it sounds pretty similar, and I still have a lot if this one left. Erring on the side of not spending money online, for once….

The hibiscus is completely unnecessary, and the peppermint kinda clashes with the cinnamon and lemon. I didn’t really notice the ginger. shrug One more tea tasted. At least it was something warm to wash down breakfast-for-dinner at a favorite local cafe on this cold evening.
A nice soothing, flavorful cuppa (with tupelo honey) to go my plain bagel and light cream cheese. Just the thing to ground me after reading all the storm coverage frim dc and nyc this am.

My thoughts are too scattered to review this tea properly. Sipping at my desk, watching the relatively insignificant wind and rain we’re getting in central nc. Wishing every one of my friends and family members in md, pa, and nyc were as far out of the path of real danger as we are. In fact i wish they were all right here safely under my roof. I need to stop looking at all the news and finish my work. Stay safe steepsters!

Drinking it plain this morning, alongside Pumpkin Spice bars with brown butter frosting. I’m not sure that the vanilla is as strong as in the Celestial Seasonings Madagascar blend after all. It definitely seems to pop with some dairy/substitute, but without it I get just a smooth even blend of rooibos and vanilla — not that that’s a bad thing! The vanilla is just not as in-your-face as it may be in other blends.
Honestly, I liked the Traditional Medicinals version better. I assumed they’d be the same, but this one somehow seems more like “hot leaf juice” + paper bag :( Especially when brewed as directed (3 min in 6oz water).
Letting it brew longer, adding honey, and letting it cool seems to mellow it out and let it all meld into something drinkable. Next time I’ll go back to the other brand, try Yogi’s, or take my own advice and buy the loose herb in bulk.

Smooth, rich, and robust. I added one ounce of Silk coconut milk and now it’s just as good as a fancy coffeeshop drink in my opinion. Something about a good vanilla rooibos is so soothing to me. This seems to be good quality. I already like it better than the CS Madagascar Vanilla Rooibos (my previous fave bagged vanilla roobios), and even better, these bags are individually sealed, which should keep it fresher!

I added 1 tsp to my Green Monster smoothie for extra energy, because I’ve been dragging lately!
My basic recipe is:
8oz milk (almond, coconut, dairy, etc.)
1/2 banana, frozen
2 large handfuls baby spinach (about 1/4 of a bag, or 1/2 cup packed)
1 carton (~6oz) low/non-fat greek yogurt (Plain, vanilla, w/fruit, etc.)
Blend until smooth. Serve in a mason jar with a few cubes of ice, and a straw. Feel healthy!

I swear, the first time I tried it, I could barely taste the matcha, but now after a few days of letting it sit and trying it again, it seems more present. Maybe the dark chocolate needed to breathe, like wine? Anyway, it’s good, but I recall liking Vosges (no longer available) green tea chocolate bar more for it’s more in-your-face flavor. The other non-tea “It’s Chocolate” bars I’ve tried are pretty good though, especially the Pina Colada. I may need to put in another order, or just find time to visit Angelina’s Tea shop in person again!

I tried using blackstrap molasses as a sweetener in this, and the tea is strong enough to stand up to it! Hmm I wonder how molasses would be in the gingerbread chai I still haven’t opened…?
