I cut open a bag of Tetley Rooibos Vanilla Pear and dumped in in the IngenuiTea, added 1tsp of Blue Raven’s “I Heart Almonds” (minus the pink sugar hearts) and steeped in 16oz water. The pear, almond, and vanilla flavors blend together perfectly. This is a very nice decaf evening tea. I’m having it with headless gingerbread man (cookie swap reject)!

Having a (bagged) cuppa with milk & sugar and Christmas cookies, before going to a Christmas party where I will surely consume more Christmas cookies, but probably not any tea except southern style sweet, or, god forbid, the infamous Firefly! (sweet tea vodka from SC)

I’m having a warm matcha latte with coconut milk (So Delicious brand, original flavor). It feels like a treat but is less heavy and guilt-inducing than hot cocoa, which is good considering I had cookies for breakfast (and some more for an afternoon snack). ’Tis the season for cookies! I am about to go bake some myself for an exchange, once the matcha energy burst inspires to me drag my heavy mixer out of the closet…

Well this is my #500 tasting note, and it was supposed to be something special (probably my second jasmine pu-erh toucha from Chicago tea garden), but I don’t have the time, energy or attention span today to do it justice. Sooo, Harney & Son’s Irish Breakfast it is. With Bailey’s. Because it’s that kind of week. Again.
(NOTE: This note refers to the bagged version.)
I usually drink Twinings decaf Irish Breakfast, so this is plenty strong in comparison. Malty and slightly sweet already, it tastes like it was made for Baileys! My hubby usually drinks this tea, but I recently learned (3/4 through the box) that it gives him headaches (although coffee and yerba mate don’t. Weird!) So he’s drinking it less and I decided to go full caf today since decaf is always a bit flat. Besides, mixing caffeine & alcohol feels edgy now that all those boozy “energy” drinks have been recalled…
I ate something that seriously upset my stomach, so now I’m drinking ginger and mint to soothe it. Ahhhh!!!!! feeling better already. Down to 5 bags of this, so I may need to buy more. Maybe I’ll wait until after the holidays when it goes on sale? I consider this a year-round staple. Perhaps I’ll try it loose when I do buy it again? Then again, the bags are so easy to buy in grocery stores and cheap after xmas…plus I like this as an ultra-portable travel tea. I’m sure I have a bag or two in my purse, in addition to ginger candy.
Steeped two bags overnight in cold water. Should have stuck with 1 probably, as the toasted (almost burnt) rice flavor is a bit strong! Only 3 bags left and this one is gone! I’m pretty sure CS has discontinued their Saphara line. Let’s hope so. There’s a reason this was on clearance at the grocery store. Lesson learned! It was serviceable as an intro to genmaicha, but I’m ready to move on!
Ok I don’t know what that minty weirdness I was getting before was about. It taste fine now! A blend of discernible coconut, a bit of papaya, and a general “tropical” flavor layered over (but now overpowering) the light, buttery green tea. I think I would like this better iced, but I’m enjoying it hot too as it is light and refreshing.
I was surprised to see this as a choice of teabags at a restaurant recently (well it was sort of a unique place, a general store/gourmet market/cafe of sorts, so not too surprised…) Anyway, I’ve been wanting to try this because I don’t like the taste of mate so it has to be masked pretty well. This was an interesting blend, rather cinnamony and a good bit chocolatey, but without letting you forget that it is an herbal tea (as in, it didn’t taste like coffee or or hot cocoa or anything.) It’s rather unlike anything I’ve had. I drank it all so I must have liked it. As for whether it gave me an energy burst, it’s hard to say but I did do a lot of shopping, wine tasting, and play watching that day so I think it did help keep me going. I will be having this one again, as I bought a box for my mate/mocha loving hubby a few weeks ago as a Christmas gift. So glad I got to sample it so now I know what I’m giving him!

Wanted red tea but without the heaviness of CS’ Madagascar Vanilla with milk, so I’m a double mug of this for my morning tea. The tart cranberry is really helping to wake up my tastebuds! Maybe I’ll make a pitcher of it iced for later….

This really hit the spot at last night’s tree lighting and musical stroll downtown. I actually had to wait 20+ min in line at the Green Bean and then another 5 after ordering to get it, and missed most of the band’s set. :-( But I was cold and thirsty and this was very good nonetheless. I had it with honey, no cinnamon.
