1769 Tasting Notes
I mixed 2-3 tsp into 8 oz cold milk (2 oz 1% and oz almond) for an afternoon pick-me-up.
I sifted the mix first, which removes most of the granulated sugar and makes it clump less. The almond milk is nice with this sakura blend, but ultimately I think I prefer unadulterated matcha powder to this “matcha au lait” mix. I’m going to use this up before opening something else though.
ps – tealog #400 (I won’t call it my 400th “tasting note” b/c I’ve hardly written any lately, just logged teas as I drink them.)

Cranberry trifecta!
Drinking this tea, and eating Wensleydale cheese w/ cranberries, on top of Cranberry Hazelnut Raincoast Crisps
(p.s. Raincoast Crisps are awesome fruity/nutty crackery crispbread things. Good plain , or with cheese, dips, etc. This is the first flavor I’ve tried but I think I’ll be buying them all and taking them to/serving them at parties this holiday season. I got them at a local organic grocery store. (The product comes from Canada so if I can get it in the middle of nowhere NC they probably have pretty wide distribution!) a touch of sweetness and some malty body, but also a tad bitter. Maybe I will steep for less time or a tiny bit cooler next time. Some sugar would probably make it ok today, but I’m trying to avoid sugar right now. (Actually I already ruined the first cup by adding “Sun Crystals” (cane sugar + stevia) Blegh! So I had to start over and brew a second mug. At least I feel like I brewed it more or less correctly this time!

made it very strong (1 tsp in about 12 oz water) and then added 2 packets raw sugar, and about 3-4 oz milks (combo of 2% and almond, didn’t measure each)
The result is a nice strong orzo latte. It’s been so long since I’ve had coffee, that if you gave me this and told me it was a regular latte I doubt I’d know the difference!

added to 8oz. San Pellegrino sparkling water. Not bad! I like the slight fizz. It’s like a healthy soda, sort of…
a bit sweet at first then a tiny bit tart (I didn’t add anything to it.) I don’t love passion fruit, but I like that this did not taste fake or overpowering, and that there was no hibiscus to be seen!
great as a sweet iced tea!
added a splash of milk; dunking a butter cookie in it. MMMmmmm It’s official – this is better than hot chocolate in my book! I actually forgot it wasn’t for a minute! It has all the richness, but without the thick gloopy texture or the sugar high/crash (or the calories).
I think I could make it through fall & winter with this and some H&S Florence and be quite happy!
