Cocoa Chai Tea from Good Earth Teas

“All my possessions for a moment of time.” — Elizabeth I

That was the quote on my teabag tag, and that’s how I feel today. Added 1 pc brown rock sugar and a splash of 2% milk. There’s definitely more spice than chocolate in this. Meh.

Cruising Cranberry from Boca Java
76

Lovely pink color and kickin’ cranberry flavor!

Matcha from Teavana
82

1 tsp matcha + 8 oz strawberry yogurt (fat free, organic & probiotic) + 1/2 cup almond milk + 1 banana = deliciousness!

I serve my smoothis over whole ice cubes instead of blending them in – seems to keep it colder longer without it watering down as quickly.

Vanilla Chai from Bigelow
55

I really disliked the decaf version of this, but I like this one – it has the right amount of vanilla for me (maybe too much for those who like their chai’s spicy).

Peach Black Tea from Twinings

Very nice peach flavor. Suprisingly “fresh” tasting. Would probably be great iced!

Blackcurrant Black Tea from Twinings
Fusion Red and White from Stash Tea Company
Wild Raspberry from Stash Tea Company

Fruity upfront with a sour pucker on the finish. Interesting. Would probably take sugar nicely, and also do well iced.

Golden Mudan from Harney & Sons
88
Monk's Blend from Angelina's Teas

if you like grenadine you’ll like this. Hint of something else in background – citrus maybe?

Chocolate Mint from Harney & Sons
55

Heavy on mint, light on chocolate = a bit thin for a dessert tea. It’s not Florence…

Jasmine Blossom from Stash Tea Company
45

(I’m not certain mine is from Stash – it’s a sample from a tasting, but looks/named same.)

Heavy Jasmine scent. Flavor ok if not overbrewed. I prefer the more delicate Harney Dragon Pearl, but this is serviceable.

Madagascar Vanilla Red from Celestial Seasonings
55
South African Kwazulu from Taylors of Harrogate

Wow! Great honey color and strong honey notes. Tempers the strong black tea. I suspect this one “sneaks up on you” – goes down smooth but packs a caffeine wallop?

Yellow and Blue from Harney & Sons

Blegh – I’m not against lavender in teas/tisanes, but this tastes stale or otherwise “off” somehow. I think I’d prefer straight chamomile, sadly.

Pineapple Paradise from The Boston Tea Company
42

liking it better today. Yes, the flavor is light, but it’s there. Going to try it iced next, I swear!

Autumn Harvest from Blue Raven Tea
34

more melony than pumpkiny, but does have sweet and creamy undertones. Can take a bit of milk and sugar, but I prefer to use have the amount of milk/sugar as I would in, say, a breakfast tea. Steeped 9 min (suggested 8-10).

Sencha Claus from TeaGschwendner
45

Added a bit of almond milk and it didn’t curdle! Ok, but not great. I think this is a love/hate tea and if I drink it too much I may start to dislike it violently. Something about it is weird… maybe it’s the cinnamon/almond/orange combo is just not quite right. It could be a great tea, but the execution just doesn’t live up to the concept…

English Breakfast from Harney & Sons
50

TEA. ENGLISH BREAKFAST. HOT.

Cran-Raspberry Black from Zoomdweebie's Tea Bar
68

Added milk and sugar to make a creamy, fruity breakfast tea. Nice with my orange scone.

Chelsea's Chocolate Banana Rooibos from 52teas
66

good with a splash of almond milk – the nutiness complements the banana. Again, the chocolate is just a hint, but that’s ok with me.

Paris from Harney & Sons
78

added a bit of sugar and almond milk. It’s ok, but I think the thicker and more neutral dairy milk is better for bringing out the depth and richness of this particular blend…

Sencha Claus from TeaGschwendner

(arrived today from teaplz – this is my first TG tea!) Lovely orange and marzipan (almond + sugar) scent. Do I detect a hint of mint too? The leaves unfurl and are quite varied — some are almost whole. The liquor is a surprisingly bright yellow-green. Orange and almond pastry-like (buttery?) flavor is strong on first couple sips, but then seems to give way to just a slightly citrus bitterness. The tea itself isn’t bitter – just the orange is a bit. I’m also getting a strong hint of cinnamon – more the warmth than the flavor (which is fine by me).

I think I like it. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it, and I doubt I could drink it every day… but I like the combo of light, wholesome green tea with a sweet, citrusy dessert-like flavor. A dessert tea that one need not add milk and sugar to is a nice change for me. However, I am tempted to put some almond milk in my next cup – it just seems like it would enhance the flavor profile. And since it’s not dairy, the orange peel won’t cause it to curdle. hmm…. this rating may go up and I drink and experiment more.

Honey Ginseng from The Republic of Tea
71

good quick morning cup that doesn’t require thought/effort. added a pinch of orange blossom honey.
