Amazingly fragrant Oolong, true to its name. The Plum fragrance is overpowering and rich. A great tea, a bit ‘perfume’ like to me. I prefer more subtle tastes but the quality of the tea itself can’t be denied.
Editing: Compared to all other Mei Lan Xiang I’ve tried this one has the strongest scent in the forefront but really lacks power in the aftertaste which is why Oolongs are renown. I’m downgrading a bit because of this.
An OK mini tuocha, it can be steeped multiple times and it doesn’t go bitter. You can get better puerh for just a bit more. Compared to the ‘Original’ Camel’s Breath form Phoenix Collection is nothing but the shadow of the original.
Preparation
I like Jasmine Silver Needle, it has the amazing taste of jasmine with the subtlety of the Silver Needle. It is a really good tea I would give it a higher rating but I prefer Silver Needle when is more sweet and this is a more savory version.
Preparation
Good black tea that will not let you down. If you are starting to drink tea this a great place to start with black teas. Fruity taste with a hint of smoke almost wine like but in a subtle way. Easy to drink with food or by itself.
Preparation
Very fragrant Bi Lo Chun, I was surprised at the scent of the leaf by itself and while steeping the scent is enhanced. This is not a very floral tea, it is more on the fruity side and I can only compare it to the taste of the skin of a plum. It can be pricey but the leaf can be re-steeped if not over-steeped the first time.
Preparation
Its an OK quality Been. You can taste the sweetness of a white tea with the complexity of a Sheng puerh (a bit bitter, very aromatic and flowery notes). I recommend using Gong Fu method so you can enjoy different phases of the tea… Rinse for a few seconds and do :15 infusions adding another :15 per infusion or to your taste.
