260 Tasting Notes
Starting to get in the holiday spirit a bit early with some holiday crafting. I pulled this sample out of my shelf to take a cup with me to paint night. I really enjoyed this. Licorice is not a flavor I gravitate towards but it blended really well. I definitely would put this one on my buy again list.
Preparation
I picked this up at a local farm last summer but already had too many other chamomile blends open. I decided to try it out tonight after a long dog walk.
I am in love with this blend. It’s smooth and soothing and a new favorite.
I’ve not had any other Teapig products and I’m impressed with the environmentally friendly packaging. I was looking over their products and might be thinking about the advent calendar.
Flavors: Apple, Chamomile, Lavender
Preparation
I was gifted 2 packages of this tea from a neighbor. I had two cups this morning while working on the grocery list. The scent of the tea leaves was lovely, reminded me of a cherry almond pastry I have had in the past. Cherry flavoring is not one I generally reach for due to my association with all the artificial cherry flavored medicines of my childhood. I do enjoy fresh and dried cherries though. This was my first cherry tea
Steeped as recommended on the package and it was a nice dark red color. During tasting there was a hint of cherry flavor with a stronger almond flavor. It did not carry over well in a second steep, but I anticipated that.
I did notice after that the best by date was for 12/2020; so I would assume that a fresher package would have different tasting notes. I would be open to trying again.
Flavors: Almond, Cherry
Preparation
It’s cooling off in New England so I anticipate I’ll be drinking more tea. With a bite in the air, I managed to take time to have a cup this morning before chores became the thing of the day.
I found this sample in the back of my tea cabinet from sometime in the last year or so. Scent is strongly fruity in the package. peach? pineapple? maybe it’s actually passionfruit and I just don’t know the scent? It brewed up a nice light green color. It cooled off some before I could get my first sip in, which was fine by me.
I didn’t feel that the scent carried over to the taste. I found it to be a bit weak in the fruitiness but did enjoy it. I can see that it would be enjoyable as a iced tea as previous notes have said.
Flavors: Green, Pineapple
Preparation
I picked this up during Blueberry Season on a whim at the Target. I love the scent of the bag and the tea once brewed. It reminds me of blueberry syrup. Not the mass produced kind but the homemade syrup.
I steeped the tea for a little over 4 minutes and then let it cool some. I find the tea has a good wild blueberry taste. I think a slight hibiscus flavor as well. It is a deep purple/red color. I’m reminded of a blueberry punch. The kids like this tea too probably for that reason. I might try iced this afternoon.
Flavors: Blueberry, Fruit Punch
Preparation
I received two sachets of this earlier this year from a tea group I joined. Doing a quick Google search it appears that the Melaleuca company launched a tea line called HIdden Garden in 2017 which they no longer sell. I used to be a subscriber to Melaleuca, so I am familiar with the pyramid sales company.
The Earl Grey was a decent Earl Grey. Nothing fancy and I wouldn’t say my favorite.
Another off of the local Buy Nothing Site because the gifter did not enjoy it. I notice that the packaging appears to be different than their current packaging, so I’m unsure of the age of the tea. It was unopened and didn’t appear to be off so I went forward with a cup this morning. As per usual, I took my tea without adding sugars or milk for my tasting.
I found the tea to be malty with a slight bitterness at the end. I’m not a huge fan of malt in general, so that definitely plays into this review. It reminded me of the tea that I get at our local Chinese food restaurant. That’s not a bad thing! Now it’s been a few years since I’ve gone to that restaurant, so I could be mistaken.
I think this is a good serviceable tea and plan to keep it in my cabinet until I finish off the package. I probably will use it for some end of summer iced teas. I noted that their website’s reviews often speak of making Hong Kong style milk tea with it. I may try my hand that that.
Flavors: Bitter, Malt
Preparation
I received this as a gift from our local Buy Nothing page. The original purchaser didn’t care for it and offered it up. I’d not heard of Vahdam before and she gave me 3 different teas to try.
I’ve been mixing it with other teas this summer to make pitchers of iced tea. This morning I had a cup and found it too bitter after steeping for 3.5 minutes with 200* water. I often hesitate to add to my tea but added a splash of skim milk and a tsp of sugar and enjoyed it on my patio. I think I’ll continue to use it for my iced teas and mixing with others but it’s not a “stand alone” tea for me.
Taste was woody and a dry with bitter finish.
Flavors: Bitter, Decayed Wood

The last of my Sampler from World Market went on vacation with me. Which means I didn’t have my kettle or timer as I would at home so may have not steeped long enough or too long.
I liked it well enough. It’s not a super exciting tea but I would dare to say, it’s one of the more enjoyable English Breakfast teas I have had to start the morning with. Maybe it’s the vacation or beachy surroundings that are influencing me. Maybe I actually steeped it just right for me and should start experimenting at home more with steeping times. It’s a good cup before the long drive home from the beach.
