5 Tasting Notes

Yunnan Fancy from Peet's Coffee & Tea
92

Sweet and moderately heavy in the mouth, It’s fruity (I taste Persimmon’s) and malty with a hint of muscatel grape, when it cools there is defiantly a woody spice. It has a little bit of an astringent end. Very good tea at only $8.45 a tin! Killer morning tea.

Ancient Trees Organic Pu-erh from Peet's Coffee & Tea
67

Very heavy in the nose and on the pallet. I’m getting a loamy, barky, dirt. it’s very syrupy and thick, something fishy but not exactly bad, maybe fresh water trout. My overall impression is of the floor of a dank forest, decomposing leaves. Gives off a Xanex/Valium type head space, strange for a tea.

I just had my second cup and nothing has changed except my head. I’m higher now than before, so I guess thats good.

Assam Golden Tip from Peet's Coffee & Tea

Good tea, pretty basic. Can be oversteeped real quick. NO MORE THAN 3 MIN!!! great in the morning.

Ti Kwan Yin from Dragon Pearl Whole Teas
100

Probably my favorite green oolong! when this is steeped correctly, (2 min off boil, 2 min steep W 3 grams of leaf, about a heaping half TBS) this produces a sweet, nutty vanillaish flavor. Good for about three steeping’s.

Nepal Kuwapani Black Tea from In Pursuit of Tea

First Impressions, As good as any Second flush Darjeeling, Maybe even better. Taste, Muscatel grape up front, Peach pit middle, and to end it off freshly cut Oak and that sticks with you for about ten min after your sip. Smell, Muscatel then Oak, Really Really nice!!! This is definitely a killer! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
