223 Tasting Notes
So! Finally coming back to this one after the first attempt and disaster almost 4 months ago. Having it iced again as I wanted a cool drink with dinner. Still really tasty! The BF also liked it. Might have to order a big bag for summer…
In fact, I’m going to up my rating…
Had a cup of this this afternoon at work as a smooth Friday afternoon tea. Was just perfect for my brain-dead end to the week.
Also did up a cup for my boss. He’s been wheezing and sinus-ing all week with a cold, thought I’d try and be helpful. He liked his cup too, said it was very smooth and creamy, which I don’t think he was expecting with a tea. He also thought it would be nice with honey.
This is the first taste of the first tea of the first order I’ve ever done from The Rabbit Hole. So, yknow, no pressure guys! The boyfriend chose this one as he likes Turkish delight and has picked up the habit of wanting to try all my teas before I do. So we’re sharing.
Dry scent: I could clearly smell both the rich chocolate and the rose. The BF said he thought it smelled exactly like Turkish delight.
Steeped smell: Turkish delight!
Taste: lighter than I was expecting. I let it steep for around 8 mins. It does taste like Turkish delight, the rose flavour is prominent. It is very enjoyable. The other half thinks it would be good iced, that will be the next review!
Edit: on reflection, I think it tastes exactly like proper Turkish delight, yknow, the pink blobby stuff from turkey. So 100points for authenticity, but the proper stuff has never been my favourite snack. Will keep having cups though, see if it grows on me!
I bought this one about 3 months ago when I got sick with the first flu of the season (in April, yes, my immune system plots against me!). I had cups and cups of it with dollops of leatherwood honey. Just wonderful for blocked sinuses and a dry, sore throat.
I’ve given this a high rating not because I love the flavours necessarily, but because as a cold and flu tea is very effective.
Not going to rate this yet, need a few more cups!
This smelled very fruity dry. I ended up with just one bit of popcorn in my cup, so the taste is definitely green apple, with a popcorny caramely after taste. I definitely enjoyed it, but need a few more cups to give a proper rating. Might get some help from friends later today!
So my partner just made his morning cream of earl grey after using the steeper for luscious watermelon last night, and it tastes like cream of luscious watermelon!
I got a sample of this in my last DT order, along with tropicalia and strawberry shortcake. Decided to brew it last night and ice it to go with the Friday night fish and chips, was even generous enough to share it with the other half (not that I would’ve got away with it, he loves watermelon).
Scent : wow. You could not confuse this as anything but a watermelon infusion! The smell just smacks you in the face!
Liquor: the sample I had was pretty pale. I steeped it twice and got 2 small glasses out of each (each was about half a DT iced tea take out cup), but only the first glass of the first steep was anything close to pink, and a much more paler one than I’ve come to expect from something like forever nuts. The final glass was almost clear.
Taste: wow, just as watermelonly as the smell. Even right at the end when the tea itself was almost clear it ws still watermelon all the way.
Will definitely be getting some of this for summer when it eventually rolls around.
Ended up steeping the leaves for a fourth time. A milder taste by this steeping, perhaps a bit more milky than oolongy? Still delish!
Wow! Yummo! I don’t actually have any of this myself, a friend got some in my last order so I naturally demanded a cup. It tastes just like the basic, old school chocolate cakes my mum used to make when I was little. Very yummy, was great just with a dash of milk.
