292 Tasting Notes
Another success for Della Terra – a rooibos tea that doesn’t taste like medicine!
I like that the flavor of this one is a bit softer than the Lemon or Lime Chiffon teas. The cream is very nice, and the orange flavor is sweet and tart and very good. I am looking forward to a second infusion, because I generally prefer the second steep of rooibos teas. So far, this one is a winner.
EDIT: This is delicious as it cools. Gah.
EDIT AGAIN: And the second infusion is delightful. So glad I tried this one. Thank you, Della Terra, for making such great caffeine-free options.
Preparation
I really enjoy the blend of white and green tea, it really makes for a very nice balanced base to this tea. I also appreciate the lightness of the flavor, I don’t feel like the creaminess is too heavy or the strawberry too sweet. I do find that the flavor is a bit artificial, but not too much to where I can’t drink it. It’s still a nice blend that I will probably quite enjoy on sunny afternoons.
Preparation
This might have just become my favorite Della Terra black tea yet. Not that that’s really saying much, since I am not a huge fan of their black teas, but this one is quite fantastic.
The creaminess is absolutely lovely. And I love that the chocolate tastes like dark chocolate, and isn’t overly sweet. I seriously can’t get enough of mint teas, and this is a lovely addition to my collection, since I haven’t found a chocolate mint tea that I really like yet. It even held up to a second steep.
Yum.
Preparation
This is delicious. I always forget that I have it, since it was one of the first samples Courtney sent me. It’s sweet but light and it’s caffeine-free and since I’m not feeling great, I wanted to stick to no caffeine this evening. This is perfect.
Preparation
This was my afternoon dessert tea today. I think it’s one of the better Della Terra blacks, although it is a bit too sweet for me. It’s alright in small doses, I don’t mind that it’s really only good for about 1.5 infusions. I do enjoy the caramel / marshmallow combination, though. Perfect for an afternoon treat.
Preparation
This didn’t really work for me.
It was on my list to try for a while, and Courtney sent me a sample last week. It was too sweet for me, and I think the overwhelming ingredient list was just too much. It wasn’t horrible, I still drank one cup and re-steeped it, and put the rest in the fridge to try cold… but I am definitely glad I didn’t order 50g.
Thanks for sharing, Courtney!
Preparation
Today, I mixed this with 52teas’ White Christmas for quite possibly the creamiest cup of guayusa ever. Lightly minty and mostly just delicious. I love how the guayusa makes everything I mix it with taste better, earthier and more natural.
I limit myself to one teaspoon per day, because if I didn’t, I think I’d put guayusa in everything.
Preparation
Gave this one another shot tonight. I was in the mood for something comforting and roasty, but also sweet… and although this isn’t perfect, it was perfect for THAT. It certainly hit the spot for me.
I tossed in some peppermint for my third infusion, and that was quite yummy. Mmmmm, pepperminty toasty marshmallowy goodness. I will do this again.
Preparation
Totally fell asleep drinking this last night. I managed to get the bits into a jar to cold-brew before I actually went to bed, though. It was delicious hot, as usual, and I’m looking forward to trying it cold as well.
I just wish it wasn’t so dang expensive!
Gahh another DT rooibos for me to try! I’ve loved all of the cream ones so far :D
This one is a bit more subtle than the others, I think, but still manages to hide the medicinal rooibos taste. It’s quite lovely.
It sounds quite delicious :) maybe my palate is untrained for rooibos but I haven’t ever found the medicinal taste it sometimes has, I hope I never find it either :P
Oh, you are lucky. I found it the first time I ever tried rooibos. I was so disappointed! But Della Terra’s teas seem to cover it up very well.
Yeah that might be why I don’t notice it, one of my first rooibos was Lemon Chiffon, along with a few others that were pretty strongly flavored from DAVIDsTEA. Happy you are enjoying it more, it’s a nice non-caffeinated drink! :)
DavidsTea & Della Terra rooibos usually don’t have that gross rooibos flavour, so I think you’ve just been lucky so far, MissLena! You’ll probably run into it eventually though, if you do swaps and such.
Also, glad we picked up 1 oz of this one to split, so I get at least 3 cups worth, haha. Yum!
