I like matcha.

I decided that since I couldn’t really judge the flavor of the Bavarian Cream I had yesterday, I should sample some plain matcha so that in the future, I will have a reference point.

So grassy and earthy and lovely, it’s so good! I am a big fan. I will probably have to look into buying matcha at some point… but Courtney sent me a few samples, so I should be good for a while. She is excellent.

Courtney

I’m so happy you liked this!

I totally never even heard of this tea! I will have to check Davids tomorrow when I go! I could use a plain matcha til my flavored ones arrive. I’m kind of an addict going without my fix right now

drank S'mores by Della Terra Teas

I just wish I liked Della Terra’s black tea base more, because the flavor of this is so precisely s’mores. I definitely prefer the marshmallow-y goodness of this one to DavidsTea’s Toasted Marshmallow, but I would much rather drink a David’s black.

Still, this is a very tasty cup, and did the trick as a dessert-y tea for me this evening.

It’s miserable outside and I don’t feel like leaving my apartment. So I made myself a piña colada… kind of. With tea instead of rum.

GAH. SO GOOD.

EDIT: I’m still drinking this. For the third steep, I added about a half-teaspoon of Buttered Rum. And now I am debating pouring in some vanilla vodka, hahahaha!

gah is right! i neeeeed to buy coconut oolong soooon

jessiwrites

You really do, if only to sample this delightful concoction.

Bonnie

Should have added some of the rum tea to it.

Gabriela

I always wanted to mix teas up but don’t know what would be good. I think this combo would be awesome. I need a piña colada right about now.

ohfancythat

MMM I will have to try this! Add a bit of Vanilla Orchid and it’s a party in my cup

jessiwrites

@Bonnie, I did that for my third steep! I’m on my fourth now, still delicious. The rum was a great suggestion, thanks. :D

@Gabriela, I have done it with a couple different teas. I haven’t been disappointed so far. I’m not terribly adventurous, though. I usually just add guayusa to other teas.

@whatshesaid, oh my god! I bet with Vanilla Orchid, this would be killer. I hope you enjoy it, too!

Dessert Tea Lover

That sounds so good! I just got a sample of the Coconut Oolong and wondered how to fix it. I may order some pineapple now.

I am choosing to not rate this, because I really have no idea how this compares to other matchas. This one was my first!

Courtney sent me a generous sample of this one, as well as a couple others, and I was super impressed. I drank it hot after my workout, and even though I don’t have a fancy whisk or bowl, a fork and a mason jar worked just fine for me. Delicious. I enjoyed this quite a lot.

Thanks to Courtney (and Shmiracles!) for sharing this one! I am always looking for delicious rooibos blends to drink in the evening, and this sounded intriguing.

I always WANT to like carrot cake more than I do. This smelled almost exactly like carrot cake, so that was exciting. However, the medicinal rooibos flavor overpowers the carrot cake that I smell. I still enjoyed two steeps of this, though, so it’s definitely one of the better rooibos blends that I’ve tried.

Ooh, good to know that the rooibos is noticeable here. Perhaps I won’t pick this one up…

I don’t know why, but for some reason I had really low expectations for this tea.

I think it’s the cinnamon and allspice that is throwing me off. I find that this tastes somehow more like cinnamon apple and less like the campfire s’mores that I would associate with a name like Toasted Marshmallow. I think Della Terra’s S’mores tea captures that much better, but I much prefer DavidsTea’s black tea base.

Anyway, my 52teas S’mores Genmaicha finally cleared customs and is in Canada, on its way to me now… so maybe THAT one will impress me. I hope, I hope!

I REALLY wanted more Brazillionaire today, but I restrained myself.

It is cold out there today, and I had to do some running around… and after standing outside and filling my car up with gas, I just wanted to come home and have a warm, comforting cup of tea. I debated trying Della Terra’s Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie, since I have a small sample of that, but this one is just too good to pass up.

It’s so cozy, it makes me feel like I’m curled up in front of the fireplace and I don’t even remember what it feels like to be cold.

This is my very first experience with chamomile. I have been so busy lately, tonight I am so looking forward to a good, long sleep. So I wanted a nice, relaxing tea before bed.

Courtney sent me a sample of this one, quite a while ago. It smells atrocious to me, like wet fields or something. Steeped, it’s much less fragrant, and actually quite palatable. I am definitely not going to steep these leaves again, even though I know the second steep would probably be the one I would prefer… but there is another cup left in the bag, and I will probably have no trouble drinking it.

I am feeling quite relaxed, so I guess it did the trick.

Hmmm, this is tasty.

I got a sample of this one from Courtney today, who so graciously picked up some teas from DavidsTea that were on my list to try. I got them in the mail today, and I was seriously looking forward to this all afternoon at work.

WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.

This is so nutty and delicious and just a bit sweet from the raisins. I might have to pick up some more of this one, but black teas aren’t really at the top of my list.

I love this tea! Glad you enjoyed it!

I really did, I am very much looking forward to drinking it again.
