292 Tasting Notes
Still don’t like melon.
I didn’t care for this one hot. I drank it and it was fine, but definitely not for me. Cold, however, YUM. It has a very authentic cantaloupe taste, and the creaminess is absolutely perfect. I really think this tea shines cold, it’s refreshing and slightly sweet and quite lovely.
I am looking forward to drinking the jars I have in the fridge.
Preparation
This was my work tea, today. I quite enjoy it, but I have found that I prefer to take Della Terra blacks to work with me because they don’t hold up as well to multiple infusions… so I don’t feel bad if I don’t have time to make another cup.
That said, I saved the leaves at home and resteeped them when I got back from the office, and it was still a pretty good second steep. Yum!
Preparation
Gaaaah, I really like guayusa.
This was a great morning tea. The lemon flavor isn’t too sharp, there’s a nice creamy taste and a fantastic earthy guayusa taste, too. It’s a great blend, I am finding that these guayusa blends from Butiki are some of my favorites.
I wanted to try this one cold, but I enjoyed it too much to wait. Sadly, this was one of the samples Stacy included in our order (and I would like to note that she sent us 4 different samples, and because she knew it was an order for two people, we got 2 of each. So we got a total of 8 samples! AMAZING!) and there was only enough for one cup. I think I need more.
Preparation
Definitely prefer Lime Chiffon, but this is still very tasty.
I put some in the fridge tonight, because I’m curious. I’ve never had a cold rooibos before, so I felt like experimenting. Fun, tea experiments! So tomorrow, I will give it a try. Lemon seems like it would be good hot or cold.
Preparation
Yum! I really wanted a dessert-y tea this evening after a busy day at work, and this was quite perfect. It’s not too sweet, and has a lovely nutty flavor that goes well with the dark chocolate.
Since this one doesn’t resteep well, I mixed in about 3/4 of a teaspoon of Della Terra’s White Chocolate with my second steep. It was maybe a bit sweeter than I would have liked, but very tasty. This is definitely my favorite of the Della Terra black teas I’ve tried.
Preparation
Hmmm, not sure about this one.
I think I was spoiled by my first pumpkin tea being Butiki’s Pumpkin Creme Brulee. I might have liked this one a little better if I hadn’t absolutely loved Butiki’s so, so much.
What I do like about this is that despite the ‘chai’ in the name, it’s not overly spiced. It’s like a warm cup of pumpkin pie, which I do appreciate. I’m looking forward to my second steep, which I might drink with some brown sugar and almond milk.
Preparation
I made a cup of this to take to work with me this afternoon. I wanted something light and mellow that would inspire me to get my work done as fast as possible.
It worked. I was only there for about two hours. Yay!
This is a really nice blend of jasmine and green tea, with a refreshing bite of mint. It all works so well together, such a delicious cup of tea.
Preparation
Gaaaaaaah.
I don’t like melon very much. I enjoyed DavidsTea’s Luscious Watermelon quite a bit, and I will eat watermelon occasionally in the summertime, but I’m not a huge fan.
That said, this tea is amazing.
I knew I would only have time for one cup before heading to work this afternoon, so I poured my first and third infusions into jars and stuck them in the fridge, and drank the second steep hot. It was delicious warm, very subtly fruity and light. But cold, oh my god. It’s so refreshing! I think I actually might need to order more of this… which I never thought I would say about a melon tea. Sigh.
Preparation
I was going to have something else before bed tonight, but I’ve had a lot of rooibos teas lately and I really wasn’t in the mood for it tonight. Mmmmm, mini donuts! This tea is so reliably delicious, and perfect for nighttime.
I’m happy now.
Preparation
Ohhhh, Ceylon Star. I love you.
What a fantastic tea. I had three wonderful steeps of this beauty tonight, and could have had more if it wasn’t way too late to be drinking black tea – even if it is ‘low caffeine.’
It’s just so lovely.
