drank Spiced Fig by DAVIDsTEA

I have changed my opinion about this tea.
I first tried Spiced Fig as part of the Winter Collection package. I wanted to try everything so I just grabbed the package (the store was nuts).
I used more than the recommended amount of tea. It was really chunky and I wanted to taste all the bits so I used two heaping spoonfuls. I really enjoyed the flavour. The 25gr package made four or five tasty cups. Not so good. The taste made me want to buy more but not at that rate.
Last week, I was in the store and they had samples of Spiced Fig. Yuck! Sweet water. Just as others have said. Though I still enjoy the flavours, I am disappointed that you have to use so much tea to get those flavours to come through. Especially since it tastes SO awful when made as directed. Nice idea, but it didn’t work.
I am still on the look out for a nice, spicy, figgy tea for the holidays.

drank Glitter & Gold by DAVIDsTEA

I read reviews of this tea and thought I’d give it a try. I am glad I did. I am really enjoying this cup right now. I like that I can taste the black tea. Subtle cloves and vanilla, not noticing the lemon peel. I’d prefer real cinnamon rather than natural and artificial cinnamon flavouring but since it doesn’t taste artificial, I’ll let that go.
I have to say, the best part – the glitter! So pretty in a clear mug. With the snow falling this feels like a festive cup of tea.

drank Maharaja Chai Oolong by Teavana

This is a staple in my collection. I love the spice combination. Cinnamon, and cloves, and ginger, oh my! I have never met a chai I didn’t like and this one does not disappoint. I drink it straight up. No sweetener needed.

I love this tea. It is one of the first teas I tried from David’s Tea. I received a sample in my very first order. Last time, I ordered two packages of the sachets which I really like because they are convenient for the office and on-the-go.
This is the perfect blend of mint and spice. I find this to be a soothing and relaxing flavoured green tea.

Lime Gelato is a great green tea from DAVIDs – very different from this one of course but if you ever want a different green tea I would give that a try

Thanks, I will.

A lovely winter tea, Spiced Fig is quiet tasty with noticeable fig, dates, and cloves. I bought a 25 gram bag but since this tea is heavy, it only made a few cups.

How did you brew this? when I made it all I got was sweet water

VariaTEA

Awesome, thanks for letting me know. I have enough left for one more cup (about 2.5 tsp) so I will give it one more try and hopefully I will enjoy it as much as you enjoyed yours.

You might have to use more, which makes this heavy, chunky tea kind of expensive. David’s Tea recommends 2 tsp per cup. I used two heaping Perfect spoonfuls for a 12 oz cup. The second cup I made steeped too long and I thought it was sweeter than the first cup. Also, I think you have to get a good proportion of pieces in each serving. This can be tricky because it is so chunky. My friend bought this too and didn’t like it but hers didn’t look like mine. Maybe she got the bottom of the barrel. I plan to get more. I hope it is as good as this last batch.

I hope that works for you.

drank Coffee Cake by DAVIDsTEA

Unfortunately, Coffee Cake tastes artificial. The tea’s name comes not from natural coffee cake ingredients like vanilla and sugar but from natural and artificial cake flavours.
A lovely aroma while steeping, the flavours are nice but the artificial taste is disappointing.

Bio

I experienced my very first cup of loose leaf tea as a child. With my sisters, we were lovingly served orange pekoe in fancy china cups at our Aunt’s house. I was hooked.

Growing up, I continued to enjoy black tea. I’ve never liked coffee so tea is my go-to hot beverage. With the rise is popularity of loose leaf tea, I’ve begun to experience other types of tea and tea blends. Online shopping and tea stores popping up in convenient locations make it easy to experience new teas on a regular basis.

Straight black is still my favourite, oolong a close second, and flavoured ones of both is third. I try to drink a cup of green tea a day (for the health benefits) and enjoy learning more about the vast differences in various greens. I am still learning about white tea. I have a few flavoured white favourites but often find straight white too floral. I have many herbal and rooibos teas because I only drink caffeine-free after dinner. I am learning more and more about my preferences in herbal flavours like liquorice, hibiscus, and mulberry.

I will try anything once and I am often surprised by what I like and dislike. All tea is wonderful and my tasting notes are based solely on my preferences. I am still learning to distinguish the different flavours (of ingredients with which I am not familiar). The only thing I don’t like it when good, natural tea is ruined by the false taste of artificial flavourings.
