I bought a sampler of Revolution Tea at World Market. This bagged tea is pleasant but not exactly something I’d go out of my way to purchase. I taste tropical fruits but it doesn’t seem to give me a single obvious note. I managed to get two steepings out of my bag.

I ordered the 25 tea bag of this on sale for work. Today I was feeling extra blah so I took about 1/4 cup of skim milk, heated it up in the microwave and added hot water and then put the sachet in for about 5 minutes. I definitely get chocolate, raspberry and nut. It’s definitely yummy (with sweetener). I like the ease of the bags too. I think I’ll have another cup, actually!

I’m not a big mint person but I love chocolate and mint together. The mint in this is really pronounced. I can feel it in my sinuses. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, especially with my allergies. I am tasting the chocolate too so it’s pleasant. I added some sweetener, without it was drinkable but not really what I was looking for. The only thing I’m not keen on is how small the rooibos is. I have quite a bit sitting in the bottom of my cup.

I’ll use up my (huge) sample but I’m not sure I’ll purchase more than that in one go.

One day my palate will be sophisticated enough so that I don’t have to add sweetener to everything, but until then…

I tried this hot unsweetened and I could barely taste the peach, but I did taste the buttery notes of the white tea. I made this at work where I can’t control the temperature and it was a little bitter. Maybe it will perform better with my variable temperature kettle.

When I added sweetener, it was much more pleasant. It is actually lighter in peach flavor than the Adagio version. I can see some people preferring this one due to the lightness of the peach. I had brought a whole bunch of tea samples to work so that I could drink based on my mood, but I think I’ll stick to greens, blacks and oolongs and reserve whites for home when I can control the temp.

So I’ve had 3 enormous 16oz mugs of this today. This is an effort to not eat every piece of chocolate in my house (yes, it’s that time – cough – ladies, ya know). Even though this is black tea, this hasn’t made me crazy and up-the-wall caffeinated like 48oz worth of coffee would have done. Also, it tastes like chocolate covered strawberries. The first time I had a cup, I was regretting purchasing 3oz of it. I no longer have that thought!

I received this in one of the little sample packets with my order. I was a bit disappointed at the small size of the sample. It was basically just dried fruit with what appeared to be a part of an orange rind. I cold brewed it for… longer than I care to admit but it does make a nice iced drink. It kind of tastes pineapple-y with a touch of mango and to be honest, it kind of reminds me of coconut water. I can drink it unsweetened which is always a plus in my book. It’s nice, but I’m curious whether me dunking some dried fruit in hot water wouldn’t yield the same result.

Especially given the other reviews of how heavy and thus pricey this is, I don’t think I’d bother purchasing.

This time I used twice the leaves and steeped almost twice as long and it’s a much stronger flavor. Added skim milk and sweetener and it still has a deep hue. I can still taste the individual flavors so I think I’ll up the teaspoons and leaves for future brews.

This tea is so delicious. The smell is amazing and you can even taste the peach without adding sweetener but the peach really comes out when you do. I used 2 generous teaspoons and I got 2 big mugs out of it (2 separate steepings). Really glad I purchased this one.

drank Laoshan Black by Verdant Tea

So I’ve heard nothing but good things about this tea and I was really curious to try it so I ordered the 5 samples for $5 from Verdant. First of all, the smell of this is so yummy, almost like a brownie. The taste without sweetener is pleasant but I’m not getting anything other than tea. With sweetener, it is sweet and light. It’s just enough smokiness but isn’t dry or seem too acidic (one of my major issues with some black teas). After it’s cooled down a bit, it almost tastes nutty which is very pleasant. I’m a bit undecided if this is worthy of a purchase. In my current tea journey, I’m more into flavored teas.

Profile

Bio

I recently discovered loose leaf tea and am already addicted (much to my husband’s dismay)! I prefer fruity teas iced and savory teas hot. Looking forward to drinking and chatting.

Some likes/dislikes I’ve been noticing:

Likes:
Pineapple
Jasmine
Fruity White Teas
lighters Blacks
Most Oolongs (especially greener varieties)
dessert teas
tisanes iced that don’t require added sweetener

Dislikes:
Spicy flavors unless in chai
astringent black teas
heavy ginger teas
teas with licorice (as primary ingredients – somehow I like some where the licorice is in the back drop)
heavily oxidized oolongs

For my own reference, I’m only placing “full size” teas in my cupboard.
