After drinking this tea, I now know why some steepster members describe some whites as buttery. You can almost taste a film on your tongue when you’re sipping this. I opted to sweeten it as it was almost weird not having a bit of sweetness with the buttery notes.

I steeped this 3 times (so far anyway). The first was at work and I can’t control the water temperature so it was slightly bitter. The other steeps were done at home and there was no bitterness at all. I’ll admit, the buttery-ness almost reminds me of things that are too oily or almost like you’ve eaten fruit that wasn’t quite ripe. It’s a little strange in a tea. Thankfully, with some sweetener, it is really nice. I love the smell of jasmine and so drinking this tea is quite pleasant… but I still think I prefer the Davidstea jasmine black pearls.

This has been my go-to tea at work and I can get 3 steepings easily out of 2 pearls in a 16oz steeping mug. Something about the scent calms me down in a slightly hectic office. It’s warm, gives me a little zing to start my day and tastes good too. I’ve been ignoring all of my other tea samples in the office because of these little gems!

I’m still curious about this one. I’ve tried several pearls now, but none with jasmine in them.

This a pleasant white tea. I’ve only been drinking it hot so far, but it seems to get a bit tastier once it has cooled down so I imagine it would be good iced too. It’s smooth, a little tart (but not overly so) and fruity. From the smell, you would think it was super sweet and intense but it really isn’t. Sweetened, it kind of feels like you’re drinking hot grape juice but there’s a faint bit of white tea in the background.

I’m a big vanilla fan and I was looking forward to using this as a mix-in with some of my fruit flavored teas. I just can’t get past the smell (although I’m drinking it since I have 100 grams of it!). Even though Tealux indicated this is made with natural vanilla it smells so artificial. The smell actually made me a bit nauseated. It doesn’t taste quite as bad as it smells but it completely overwhelmed the strawberry tea I was mixing with it. Plus, part of the whole tea experience is smelling it as you’re drinking it and it just ruins it for me. I’m going to try a couple more times. Maybe I’ll use a lot less going forward but for me so far this is a big nay.

I was so excited to try this tropical oolong tea, but found it lacking in tropical flavors. My cup was overwhelmingly cinnamon which wasn’t horrible but far from what I was expecting. Don’t think I’ll buy again and I’ll have a difficult time finishing my tin.

I’m finally drinking this alone and hot (well with a little sweetener). This is my 6th mug of tea today trying to get rid of bronchitis. Anyway, this has a nice fruity flavor and aroma. I’ve noticed that I do really like fruity white teas and this is no exception. With my sudden love for all things loose, I’m not sure I’ll repurchase once I’m done with the last 3 bags of this but it was nice while it lasted!

I prepared this per the instructions and added some sweetener and skim milk. It’s quite pleasant. You do get both the chocolate and strawberry flavors. It’s a nice dessert tea and the price is right.

I don’t know what it is about this tea. I wasn’t thrilled with it after drinking it for the first time but it really helped my sinuses and afterwards, I kept on thinking about it. So I ordered it. And I don’t know whether I got a bad batch (with extra spice) before or what, but it’s pretty pleasant and the bit of spice really does help my sinuses. I prepared a baggy to keep at work.

Bio

I recently discovered loose leaf tea and am already addicted (much to my husband’s dismay)! I prefer fruity teas iced and savory teas hot. Looking forward to drinking and chatting.

Some likes/dislikes I’ve been noticing:

Likes:
Pineapple
Jasmine
Fruity White Teas
lighters Blacks
Most Oolongs (especially greener varieties)
dessert teas
tisanes iced that don’t require added sweetener

Dislikes:
Spicy flavors unless in chai
astringent black teas
heavy ginger teas
teas with licorice (as primary ingredients – somehow I like some where the licorice is in the back drop)
heavily oxidized oolongs

For my own reference, I’m only placing “full size” teas in my cupboard.
