560 Tasting Notes

560 tasting notes

Had this this morning and it’s… okay?
It was watered down at first, left the leaves in, and it turned sour so I don’t know.
I’ll like.. write a proper note in the future when I can actually think okay

My brain is freakin fried because that FREAKIN MIDTERM WAS BRUTAL AND I NEVER WANNA SEE IT AGAIN.
I studied so hard.
Reviewed it over the weekend and a couple days leading up to it, 5 hours straight yesterday, and 2.5 hours straight today. I thought I was confident but I took it and now I wanna cry because it was so hard. And it’s not just me, it was the entire class as well! Thought I was going to get an A, but nope. Now I feel like I deserve a C or a D. ughasdj;aksdfkl;sadf FREAKIN FINANCE.

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 15 sec 4 g 12 OZ / 354 ML

If most of the class felt that way than rest assured that you are ok to feel the way you! I imagine you’ll do better than you think.. :)

mj

Also, maybe the grades are curved?

jump62359

This is just the first time I’ve ever like… It just came to a surprise, you know? Like I studied a lot and I was confident, but then there were things that I couldn’t figure out and that kinda just got my mood all blegh-y.
And he throws questions out so like I can get a 4% boost, or as much as an 8% boost. But still, dude. I’m just so nervous :/

mj

I totally know what you mean. I had nothing lower than an A in high school but organic chemistry totally tripped me up sophomore year. But I made it through, graduated with honors, and no one has ever asked me about it since, even when applying for grad school :-). So don’t stress too much! (Easier said than done, I know)

So I’m watching Skins and there was this song that Jal played that I LOVE so much! And I knew it was in Disney’s Fantasia 2000 and I really needed to listen to that song okay.
Rhapsody in Blue aww yiss

Also, this tea because Sil drank it a couple hours back and it was the first tea on my dash at the time, and it just sounded so good. Last time I had it, I had it with a bit of sugar and milk, but you know, I actually like it plain! As with all my other teas :)
I love coffee. I managed to get a free cup today in class cuz this girl next to me just gave it to me! They messed up on her drink and she was like “Take it. I don’t want it to go to waste!” and I was like suuure thing :)
So yes. Coffee this morning, and a coffee-like tea //side note. The train just passed by and it was honking with my music wow that was weird. ANYWAYS YES. A COFFEE-LIKE TEA TO END THE DAY! It’s really good. I’m surprised that a tea this dark and roasty toasty tasting is caffeine-free! Definitely a great tea :)

I don’t know how anyone could possibly make this tea in a strainer. Either like DAVIDs steeper, or strainer ball stuff, or a basic tea strainer. I feel like it’d be a bit of a goopy mess. I always break out my DAVIDs cutie patootie filters whenever I drink this tea but I couldn’t find them for some reason :/ so a basic finum tea filter will have to do tonight eheh :)

yes. ramblings. whenever it’s midterms/finals season (right now it’s death with midterms and papers and presentations and finals just around the corner), my tasting notes are either super short, or detailed with pointless life updates so I won’t study. Ugh my massive finance midterm is tomorrow and I’m so lost! Calculations are a pain in the butt right now :/
On the bright side, I did get a 96 on my first midterm! So if I completely bomb the one tomorrow, I should still be in the clear, right?

Oh my gosh.
This tea.
I like it!
ANOTHER!!

Thank you VariaTEA for sending me a sample of this tea! It’s nice and tastes like a fluffy lemon cake :) It is lime chiffon so.. well, I taste the brightness and chiffon is a type of cake so close enough! I feel like this tea, if you turn it into cake form, is the perfect thing to eat with tea. Can I like infuse this with milk, and use the Lime Chiffon milk to make lime chiffon tea cakes? Dude. That sounds great.

Anyways, this tea is good! Nice and sweet, and it is blended quite nicely! Oohhh this is just really nice and a definite must when I order from Della Terra!

Yay! I am glad you liked it!! And Lime Chiffon Tea Cakes sound AMAZING!!

My parents are driving down for the weekend because my mom wants to see her sister, and I tried convincing them to bring my stand mixer!! They wouldn’t since it’s heavy and I’ll be moving out in a couple weeks so it’ll be a loooong time till I attempt those tea cutie cakes! I will do it! When? I don’t even know…

Haha better late than never though :P

So today has been a very blech day and I really wanted something sweet and nice for dessert, so a chocolate tea it is! And my stomach has been off all day long so I need some peppermint tonight as well. It was between this and Butiki’s Peppermint Patty, but in the end, this tea won because I wanted the deep, robust rooibos :)

A big thank you to VariaTEA for sending this my way!
A great rooibos tea with peppermint and chocolate to soothe my stomach :)

Currently dying from midterms and finals prep ugh :/
Writing a paper for my Human Resources class and I decided to write it on Disney! Of course. And my Mike Wazowski mug is keeping me company :) And I’m also listening to Disney Area Music as I write my paper so… I start in about 3 weeks okay, I’m allowed to be excited!!
My roommate is gone for tonight and I’m taking advantage by playing the best music you’ll ever find on YouTube! She used to work at Carthay and would never let me play their music loop ahha

((also I just found out that I need a 90 on my final to maintain my A in my hotel class, but I can get as low as a 75 to go down to an A- what the heck))

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more 4 g 12 OZ / 354 ML

I am so glad you like this one given I was never going to drink it. It is always nice when tea is passed on to someone who truly appreciates it.

Good luck with all your studies btw and you definitely get to be excited about Disney. If I visit my Dad in LA, I will have to come find you when you are at Disney and we can have tea together at the happiest place on Earth :)

My friend was given like 4oz of Teavana’s earl grey in a really nice tin for her birthday and she HATED it! The next time I saw her, she told me that she just keeps that massive tin in her car, opened, in the heat, because it smells good and it makes a nice air freshener.
Like oh my gosh you should have seen my horrified face the second I saw that tin sitting on her dashboard. I didn’t believe her at first but oh boy she was serious. What a waste of tea :/

But yes, let me know if you ever come down! My program runs till the 3rd of January of next year, but I do intend to stay with them part time, so if everything works out, we could totally spend the day in Disney together! Darn. If we were in Florida, they have afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian!

I great big ol thank you to MissB for sending this tea my way!
I believe I had the same tea, but summer harvest, a couple weeks or months ago.
I don’t think my palette is.. advanced enough to know the difference between summer and autumn harvest though

But this tea is nice! It’s very similar to the other one. Very vegetal and very green. I don’t think I’ve had that many straight green teas before, and they’re okay. It’s definitely going to get some getting used to. Tastes like liquified sweet spinach ahha but it’s totally fine since that’s how it’s supposed to taste like! Gotta work my tastebuds up to this kind of very green tea :)

Preparation

Probably my fave green of all

Mandy

I love greens! It took some time, but they’re the teas that got me into teas to start with. But I know what you mean, I feel this way about blacks. I taste a straight black and mostly just taste bitter earthyness, like brewed dirt!

I’ve seen so many good stuff about this tea on my dash (if that’s what it’s called? Dash or feed or… I don’t even know) and it got me excited to try this tea! It’s… okay. It had a really nice dry leaf smell, but its brightness got a bit.. murky and dull in a way? I like how there’s little bunny grahams in here hehe, so that’s probably what gave this tea a bit of umph, but not enough to go head over heels for.

It’s good, but not great. Thanks NayLynn for the chance to try it, and giving me enough for a few cups, but I don’t think this is a tea I’ll go out and purchase.

drank Tigre Blanc by Nina's Paris
560 tasting notes

Mmmm thank you tons, Laurent from Nina’s for sending me a sample of this tea!
It’s not as green as the photo suggests, but it does give off a nice and pleasant peach aroma. Reminds me a bit of the peach rings that I used to love so much :)

Ooh. I think my water was a smidge too hot and it’s right on the edge of being bitter, but it’s really nice! I makes a nice, straight cup :) The peach is definitely there, and it’s not as sugary as the peach rings, but still has the nice bright summer fruit flavour :)
I really like this tea! Definitely a nice oolong with a nice fruity flavour. Peach is definitely present, and I’m also getting bits of apricot which is nice

((this is also a sipdown so hooray for drinking all the tea!!))

Flavors: Apricot, Peach

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 3 min, 45 sec 3 g 10 OZ / 295 ML

PEACH RINGS! Ugh, brings back memories. I used to eat those all of the time. Peach is definitely a lovely summer tea flavor!

jump62359

This is my second peach ring tea and I LOVE it! I love summer cuz now I can drink fruity teas all day long :)
I really want to try this iced so looks like once I get my cupboard down to a manageable number, I’ll be buying more of this!

drank Dragon Pearls by DAVIDsTEA
560 tasting notes

Smelled the sampaguita as I was walking out of my aunt’s house, driving back to school, and figured I needed a jasmine tea the second I arrived at my apartment!
I love love LOVE the Butterfly Jasmine from DAVIDs.
This one is good! Not as great as the Butterfly, but still oh so very nice and smooth. The perfume isn’t super strong and the tea didn’t get bitter, unlike their Silk Dragon Jasmine and Angel of Decadence from Beastly Beverages.

The Butterfly Jasmine still wins for best jasmine tea ever, but this one and Harney’s jasmine pearls go hand in hand :)
I honestly don’t know if the shape of the leaves so anything to its taste? But like the loose leaf jasmines take on more of a bitter and stronger taste, while the rolled pearls and butterflies are a bit lighter, which I love a whole lot more.

Tea rating guide:
100-90: Best thing to ever touch my mouth and I want more. Restocking is a must
89-80: Love this tea. Restock if I can
79-70: Decent tea. Neither love nor hate.
69-60: I won’t be upset when it runs out. I’ll drink it but won’t restock.
59-30: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea and I’ll finish the cup.
29-10: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea. It may or may not have gone down the sink…
9-below: Let’s not even hide it. This definitely went down the drain.

I love tea.
I drink it.
I log it.
I have a good time.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

I first discovered my love for tea with Jasmine because that’s all my mother would buy, so for the longest time, I thought that all teas were jasmine! And then in 4th grade, I watched the tea episode of Good Eats and that’s when the education started! I’d like to blame Alton Brown for starting this obsession because now I only like loose leaf tea.
It wasn’t until my second year of college that I actually expanded my tea taste buds. Special shout out to Cara McGee, Queen Tea for her Adagio Fandom blends. Because of Cara, I actually started drinking blacks, herbals and whites and pretty much everything else in between. I still have a special love for my jasmine though :)
I drink tea daily. Usually just straight up, no sugar or milk with the exception of chai. I like chai with just a wee dash of milk and a sprinkle of sugar! This little obsession started young and just… kept going, I guess. I have friends who think I have a problem with tea, but I really don’t. Everything is good in moderation.
I also have a mug buying problem and I’ve got Disney to blame for that. At least all my mugs are being put to good use!

also I apologize in advance for lazy tasting notes and horrible grammar in everything I write. I’m an avid fandom blogger on tumblr we have some weird way of talking to each other and sometimes I forget that this isn’t tumblr oops
