617 Tasting Notes

I’d just want to wish everyone here a very Happy New Year!!

I know I don’t post on so much anymore, but that’s because Disney has ended :( Well, College Program, that is! I had my last day as a CP yesterday, and Sunday will be my first day as a part time cast member :) Nothing too special, I’m still at Disney! hehe :) The main difference is the fact that I get like no hours, which is good because I have to focus on school this quarter. Ahh too many things going on right now!

But yeah. THIS TEA.
Well, first off, I freakin love my DAVIDsTEA Steeper like IT’S SO EASY TO USE AND CLEAN UP IS FAB. I might have to do a separate review on that.
But I got this tea like last week as a part of my Starbucks reward and the people were just staring at me. I asked if I could get an oz of this tea and they were trying to get me to purchase other teas or purchase it in a tin or whatever and I’m all naww, I just want the tea please! Did you want to purchase a tea to drink on your way out? Naww just the tea please

I’m freakin lost without my tea scale so my proportions might’ve been a bit off, but this tea ended up a bit bitter in the beginning. And then after a couple sips, it started to mellow out a bit :) It’s really good! $15 an ounce, and a minimum 2oz for a purchase is a bit steep for me (ha. get it?), but this works for the rewards and rewards I shall use!

Thank you Starbucks for all these extra perks. I reach my rewards constantly because of the Starbucks backstage. And because of that, free teeeeeaaaa!!!

Haha, I also take full advantage of Starbucks rewards at Teavana

Everything is better when it’s free ehehe :))

From the Marco Polo TTB

Ahhh I drank this DAYS ago, but never had the time to log it! Dude. This tea is SO good. Just the perfect hint of floral to a tea. I think… I think I actually have to purchase this tea because I didn’t really savour my time with it. Gotta get more!

Make sure to tell them you found it through the TTB. I’m sure they’d be happy about that :P

That’s the best part about TTBs – when I find a tea I really like. :)

Thank you tons to Laurant for sending me a sample of this months ago! Dude. I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had the time to sit and drink tea. But now that finals weeks is upon us, its time for tea!

This ones was just okay. A nice blend of flavours, but I’m not the biggest fan of sweet strawberry/cherry/raspberry flavours in a black/green blend. I tend to like those more as herbal flavours. Ahh well, it’s a lovely tea, just not for me!

This is actually one of my favorite Nina’s teas! I love the fruity flavors and this particular green/black blend hasn’t been finicky for me. Everyone’s tastes are so different. That is why we all need to have so many teas in our houses!

And good luck on finals!

Part of the 12 Days of Tea from DAVIDs!

Decided to drink this one even if it’s not one of my favourites only because I’m not feeling well and tea is a must today :( Figured I’d better drink a cold fighting tea!

Last week I drove back home for Thanksgiving and it was TONS of fun! Left at 3am, arrived at 10-11ish. Had our festivities. I was told we were going to leave at noon to drive back down to Southern California buuut I got woken up at 7:45 in the morning, being told to get up and get ready because we were going to San Francisco!! Ahh so exciting :) We went and had fun. I saw that there was a DAVIDs promo where you spend $30 in store and you get a free tote and I was all AWW YISS. Went to the store and the last said that you had to spend $60 and I was all…??? But apparently that was a Canadian offer and the offer here in the US was spend $35 and you get a free perfect mug! So that’s what I did because I couldn’t control myself. I ended up getting the 12 Days of Tea, an oz or two of peppermint because my sister was running low, and an ounce of this tea bc I didn’t have any tea from the fall collection.

Definitely made this weird.
I think over steeped, over leafed, and too hot water? Blegh the bitterness is real.
Definitely dowsed this tea with milk and sugar haha. The second cup should be better!
Dang. I am so lost without my tea scale…

Saw this in the box and had to try some! I just got a wee 3g sample :)
Dude. I’m so lost without my tea scale. Last time I remember seeing it, is when I got the Marco Polo box. Now it’s nowhere to be found? Aww I’m so sad. I’ll find it eventually? Hopefully?

But it’s almost christmastime and I’m so excited for the holidays! This one smells like wonderful pumpkin pie. I think my water may have been a bit too hot because it’s on the slight bitter side, but at least I do taste the pumpkin! I’ve been meaning to place a Butiki order, but I have SO much tea. Hopefully they’ll still be open when I lessen my tea stash? I’ve had plenty of their teas and I’ve fallen in love with so many of them, but I need to lessen my tea stash and save up before I can get more!

What a busy day, oh my gosh!
So this morning, I decided to leave extra early because I wanted to get to class early and turns out, they weren’t opening up guest parking till 8:30, and I had to be parkside at 8:30!! So it was a huge mess of trying to get to the right place, and getting stopped by plenty of other cast members and two people from security and wow, it was a mess.
But class parkside was fantastic, and I got to play in the parks with my friends after.
Went home, showered, and got ready for initiation banquet happening at school.

I got to RKR and talked to a lot of people and they were all so nice! I met Nancy and her parents and they let me sit with them since I went alone. Dinner was PHENOMENAL. Like seriously. The meat was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth, and the roasted brussels sprouts with the onion and garlic in the risotto. Ugh. It was divine. And then you have the Chocolate Pot De Créme which was just perfect to wrap the dinner.
Initiation happened and I got my chord with the certificate and I felt smart hehe. There’s the third honor society in my college career! I think I might be in too many, but Honor Societies just make me feel good hehe. And this is the one specific to my major so I’m so happy I got invited to join.

But I decided on this tea because I wanted something like hot cocoa, but no caffeine to end the night and this rich caramel/honey roasted barley tea just sounded perfect! Just having it plain tonight. No sugar or milk and I think it actually works :)

Note #600!!
Ahh Fili. This was one of my favourites in the Hobbit blends :)
I only have 3g of this left so I’ll save it for when I really want it!

Lovely chai/cinnamon taste to it so it reminds me of christmas hehe :) Great tea to go with milk and sugar :)

((this note is lazy, I know. It’s been a very lazy but tea filled day hehe))

Flavors: Cinnamon

I got this many moons ago when Laurant was handing out samples of his tea. I jumped on it because VariaTEA loved them so much. She sent me a whole lot of their zodiac blends, but this time with Laurant, I went with the greens and black teas!

This tea is so good oh my gosh. Lovely chocolate/caramel/vanilla scents when you open up the baggie, and it comes out more as it steeps. It did turn a bit bitter when I drank it straight, but I think this is a tea that needed the milk and sugar!! Ahh so so SO good. When I lessen my tea stash, I’ll definitely get my hands on some of this tea :)

Flavors: Caramel, Chocolate, Cream, Vanilla

Boiling 3 min, 0 sec 4 g 10 OZ / 295 ML

I could have shared this with you too had I known you were interested :)

Hahha it’s all good! You gave me more than enough! I’m still trying to get through all the teas you gave me :)

Teas in my cupboard are in my personal collection.
I’m always looking forward to reducing my stash so swappable teas are listed here:

Likes/dislikes here:

Tea rating guide:
100-90: Best thing to ever touch my mouth and I want more. Restocking is a must
89-80: Love this tea. Restock if I can
79-70: Decent tea. Neither love nor hate.
69-60: I won’t be upset when it runs out. I’ll drink it but won’t restock.
59-30: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea and I’ll finish the cup.
29-10: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea. It may or may not have gone down the sink…
9-below: Let’s not even hide it. This definitely went down the drain.

I love tea.
I drink it.
I log it.
I have a good time.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

I first discovered my love for tea with Jasmine because that’s all my mother would buy, so for the longest time, I thought that all teas were jasmine! And then in 4th grade, I watched the tea episode of Good Eats and that’s when the education started! I’d like to blame Alton Brown for starting this obsession because now I only like loose leaf tea.
It wasn’t until my second year of college that I actually expanded my tea taste buds. Special shout out to Cara McGee, Queen Tea for her Adagio Fandom blends. Because of Cara, I actually started drinking blacks, herbals and whites and pretty much everything else in between. I still have a special love for my jasmine though :)
I drink tea daily. Usually just straight up, no sugar or milk with the exception of chai. I like chai with just a wee dash of milk and a sprinkle of sugar! This little obsession started young and just… kept going, I guess. I have friends who think I have a problem with tea, but I really don’t. Everything is good in moderation.
I also have a mug buying problem and I’ve got Disney to blame for that. At least all my mugs are being put to good use!

also I apologize in advance for lazy tasting notes and horrible grammar in everything I write. I’m an avid fandom blogger on tumblr we have some weird way of talking to each other and sometimes I forget that this isn’t tumblr oops

Disneyland. Literally.
