drank Jardin Sauvage by Lupicia

I’M KINDA LAUGHING SO HARD BECAUSE I’M AT MY COUSINS FUNDRAISER RIGHT NOW AND I LOOK INTO MY BAG AND I SEE ALL MY TEAS IN IT AND I REMEMBERED I GRABBED THIS TEA IN SACHETS. My cousin actually like started pulling the teas out and a lot of them were my adagio samples, but then I saw the yellow Lupicia pack and YES. TEA WITH DINNER.
So yes. I’m enjoying this dinner fundraiser thing with a nice cup of tea and they’re auctioning off the desserts and wow this is great. Dude. A strawberry cake just went for $48 wow.
But yes. TEA IS GOOD. I like this tea very much. I really do like the hits of mango and citrus :)

I wasn’t supposed to go to Starbucks today but I passed by it on the way to the bank and the line was super short so… it was calling my name hehe :)
Seriously though. If I buy tea at Starbucks, I only get my chai tea latte because that’s the only one that I like.

I’m spending the weekend with my cousins and I totally brought tea with me (since their teas are all like… bags and.. no) and I totally forgot that they don’t have a kettle, or a strainer, or anything that deals with loose tea at all. Bleeehhh so I’m totally going to spend the weekend not drinking tea :/

Oh my gosh so I keep dabbling between the steepster app and the site because I definitely want to get used to the app because it’s so cute!
So yeah. This tea. I wanted to drink one from my Steepster Select pack and asked my roommate to pick a tea out at random and she chose this one!
Dry, this tea smells nice. Definitely smells like an oolong.
Steeping, whoa oh ohhhh it definitely smells like an oolong! For some reason, I always hate how oolongs smells like, but when I taste it, it tastes so much better. Just gotta get used to it, I guess!
And now trying it out aaand oh yes. Definitely oolong-y and tasted all roasted and ash-y and liquor-y. Don’t know if I necessarily am in LOVE with the taste, but it’s still a pretty good tea :) not the best, but decent :)

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 2 min, 45 sec

One of the last teas from my swap with shmiracles!

Not the biggest fan of cocoa in teas, but this tea (dry) smells soooo good! The cocoa seems like just the perfect amount, along with the hazelnut. Couldn’t really smell the rose but that’s fine with me since I’m also not the biggest fan of rose hahah.
Steeping, I can definitely smell the chocolate. It reminds me a whole lot of White Christmas by Lupicia.
Drinking it, it definitely keeps the cocoa. The rose gets lost a bit and I do get that rich nutty flavour of the hazelnut.

I got this tea from one of my friends back home!
She was working at this tea shoppe for the holidays and asked me if I wanted some tea and she just bought me this one and their chai (since I was running low) and IT FINALLY CAME IN THE MAIL!

In the tin, it smells soooo good. I love the scent that the orange peel gives off!
Steeping, the orange disperses and the green tea definitely takes over.
SHOOT. I TOTALLY FORGOT THIS WAS A GREEN TEA. It turned out really bitter. Like super bitter. I’ve been drinking herbals for the past week because of midterms and I definitely just poured freshly boiled water onto the leaves and now they’re bitter :(
I’m pretty sure if I prepared this correctly, it would taste amazing! But there’s a bite to it right when it hits my tongue and I don’t like it one bit.
Soon. TOMORROW. I’ll try this tea again and hope that I’ll prepare it correctly.

Today in Professional Cooking Lab, we did our chicken and starch portion and WOW THE FOOD TURNED OUT GREAT!! (http://instagram.com/p/j0X5bdvhD7/)
As we were cleaning our kitchen up, this girl was making thai tea for herself and her friends and it smelled soooo good. I’ve had thai tea in restaurants before and it was okay? But she used some thai tea mix and it was pretty good!

((didn’t catch the brand of the mix. Don’t know if thai tea would even be in Steepster because it’s a mix? But the mix looked like leaves and things? I don’t even know. I don’t know how to make thai tea but I know it’s good!))

VariaTEA

Your food looks might tasty. Good job! Also, a course in cooking sounds kinda awesome.

Oh it was SO good! A 4 hour class may seem lengthy, but I’m so happy it’s in the kitchens because time flies!
Dude, cooking courses are so much fun! I took some in high school, but there’s definitely something about working in the professional kitchens in college!

Studying and a fruity-ish tea and wow still sticking to herbals because of midterms! After tomorrow night I’ll go back to drinking all my other teas :)
((I actually did this on my phone and wanted to add a photo because I thought there was an option to on the app but nOPE. Ahh well. It’ll probably get fixed eventually))

drank Foxtrot by Adagio Teas
726 tasting notes

I just looked into my bag of Foxtrot and I just realized that I’m slowly running out of it! Aww I’m quite sad :( This is definitely one of my favourite herbal teas that I own! And since it’s nearing the bag, there’s not as much chamomile since those sat at the top of the bag, so the peppermint and rooibos are taking over which I actually really like!

gmathis

No disrespect to Adagio (Foxtrot is one of my favorites) but this is one you can concoct on your own if you have access to a decent bulk health food store—that way you can juggle the proportions the way you want to.

jump62359

Yeah, I know. I actually have like all of the teas to make my own Foxtrot haha. I have enough to last me another 3 or 4 cups, but after that, it’s off to blending my own!

OH MY GOSH CAN I JUST CRY BECAUSE I JUST GOT THE STEEPSTER APP AND WOW THERE ARE THINGS YOU CAN DO ON THE APP THAT YOU CAN’T ONLINE.
So. Starbucks. Studying for 3 hours in the library deserves some Starbucks. Now I’m just sitting outside waiting for class to start and I was all huh. I wonder if I got added to the app list thing? AND I DID AND NOW I HAVE THE STEEPSTER APP AND WOW I LIKE VERY MUCH.
Sadly I can’t add a photo because I actually just drank it all hahah but wow I’m liking this app.
Wow okay still don’t know how to do things on the app but it’s so much fun to play with :))

TEA IS GOOD. Drinking my chai outside because it’s such a nice 72degrees here and the sun isn’t harsh at all, and even though I’m drinking something hot on a warm day, I’m not sweating bullets. It’s just so perfect and the steepster all is perfect and I love it so much :)

drank Mint Verbena by Harney & Sons
726 tasting notes

I told my roommate to throw my earphones into my mug that was on the table because the last time I left them on the coffee table, my roommate took them! With that being said, I almost poured hot water into my mug because I totally forgot they were there haha
I feel like all my most recent tasting notes are of me complaining about life and midterms and well GIVE ME TWO MORE DAYS THEN I’LL BE BACK TO NORMAL. Seriously though. This past week was super stressful and I just have two more days left till my last midterm! and then two more midterms in about 3-4 weeks ugh :/
Hello, my name is Kyra. I’m a third year in college and I’m currently stu//dying//

But yes, tea! I got this in the sampler cube I bought from Harney like a month or so ago. Dry, it smells like mint with hints of lemon which I /really/ need right now.
I just took a sip and WOW IT’S WAY TOO HOT TOTALLY JUST BURNT MY TONGUE. But with that sip, I feel like I really taste the lemon verbena to the point that it’s not *that enjoyable? Ehh more peppermint would be nice :)

Tea rating guide:
100-95: Best thing to ever touch my mouth and I want more. Restocking is a must
94-80: Love this tea. Restock if I can
79-70: Decent tea. Neither love nor hate.
69-60: I won’t be upset when it runs out. I’ll drink it but won’t restock.
59-30: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea and I’ll finish the cup.
29-10: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea. It may or may not have gone down the sink…
9-below: Let’s not even hide it. This definitely went down the drain.

I love tea.
I drink it.
I log it.
I have a good time.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

I first discovered my love for tea with jasmine teas because that’s all my mother would buy, so for the longest time, I thought that all teas were jasmine! And then in 4th grade, I watched the tea episode of Good Eats and that’s when the education started! I’d like to blame Alton Brown for starting this obsession because now I only like loose leaf tea.
It wasn’t until my second year of college that I actually expanded my tea taste buds. Special shout out to Cara McGee, Tea Queen for her Adagio Fandom blends. Because of Cara, I actually started drinking blacks, herbals and whites and pretty much everything else in between. I still have a special love for my jasmine though :)
I (try to) drink tea daily. Usually just straight up, no sugar or milk. This little obsession started young and just… kept going, I guess.

also I apologize in advance for lazy tasting notes and horrible grammar in everything I write. I was an avid fandom blogger on tumblr and tumblr talk can get in the way of everything kthxbai
