892 Tasting Notes
Thanks Alphakitty! I thought this would be a good one before bed. I have had too much sugar and caffeine today. The aroma of this herbal is pretty peachy and juicy. At first the flavor is ok. There is that peachy, juiciness I was smelling… but then it just turns to a bad sugary aftertaste like cheap peach candy. Maybe it’s all of the candied fruit? For some reason I don’t really do well with heavy fruit herbals :\ Even the really well done ones. Maybe next time I’ll go with trying it iced.
Thanks again!
This is one of the most beautiful teas I have seen. The soft dry leaves are so pretty. The aroma is very light but the flavor is amazing. Soft notes of melon, peach, and honey. I can catch some slight vegetal notes but mostly a sweet, ripe honeydew flavor. I’m actually surprised with how sweet this is. Definitely one of the better whites I have had.
Edit: The second steep is still super sweet and almost reminds me of cotton candy. I’m not complaining of course :] MMMMMM
I’m still surprised that I’m the only one who has logged this matcha. The aroma of it is beautiful. The flavor is lighter than I remember but that’s ok with me. Oh, how I love rose flavored things :]
Thank you for the lovely sample Alphakitty! The leaves have a beautiful deep green color. The aroma is slightly vegetal and sweet with hints of butter. It’s sweet and has a bit of a buttery\vegetal taste to it. I want to say that there is a bit of a light(and I mean LIGHT) citrus flavor in the background. I reeeaalllllyyy enjoyed this tea. It’s been a minute or two since I’ve had a nice green :]
Thanks again!
I received this in a swap with Ellyn! The aroma of the dry leaf is quite unique. After I read Ellyn’s review on this tea I was kind of afraid to try it becuase…. you know.. pickles…
The flavor is interesting. I can definitely taste the lychee and the only way I can recognize the bamboo flavor is because I have tried just plain bamboo tea. The lemon and tangerine flavor really stick out. Everything just blends in an odd way. This is a very exotic tea and I think it’s ok. Not the best, not the worst. I think it would be pretty good iced. Thanks again Ellyn!
I had a tea that reminded me of pickles once, though I can’t remember what it was. It was… weird, to say the least.
Lately I have had no time for loose leaf :( I’m living off bagged tea…. But I’m sipping on a hot cup of this deliciousness on my way to the gym. I needed a bit of a lift so hopefully this’ll do. The aroma is very tart and fruity. The flavor reminds me of pixie stix. Not bad for a bagged tea. Not to mentioned the bag has been in the water well over 10 minutes now and it just keeps getting better. I’m impressed.
Thank you Lariel for some samples of this! I enjoyed this while on vacation because it was easier to carry(it was bagged) to breakfast thank loose. I was excited to get this because I LOVE anything lemon\lime. When I started steeping it I got kind of a kitchen cleaner smell aroma out of it. But as it cooled the aroma was more pleasant. The flavor was very nice. It was mellow but still had a nice citrusy taste to it. I really enjoyed it! Thanks again!
I bought this at the Southeast Market about a year ago. I bought it when I was first getting into pu-erh and to be honest… this tea kind of scared me away from pu-erhs because of the fishy smell it has. I’ve only had it one other time but I thought I’d give it another shot since I found that pu-erh is actually pretty tasty :]
It’s very mellow. It’s earthy and sweet. It has a bit of a floral-ish note. It is actually pretty satisfying for super cheap pu-erh.
Sorry it didn’t work for you. :( It’s much better iced, but yeah, it’s pretty sweet. If you cold brew, though, it’s much much less sugary.
That’s what I was thinking :] I’ll have to give it another go before I completely give up on it.
