730 Tasting Notes
I was cautions when I bought this tea. Cherry teas can either love me or hate me. This one… Slightly dislikes me. I want to say it’s kind of a fake cherry taste, like cough syrup… But in a strange way I kind of like it. It’s mellow though. There is a hint of rose.. but maybe it’s not my favorite… Mm no.. maybe play around with the steeping times?
I got this tea in a sample pack. Today I thought I’d give one a try. The color of the tea turns kind of a murky green, which made me nervous about the taste. But it’s actually really good! The orange flavor is not fake at all. I feel like someone squeezed a slice into my cup. It’s sweet but also a little bitter. It has a very, very light floral note to it, but it’s still hard to notice. I was actually impressed by this tea :)
Thank you to Amanda for sending me a sample of this tea! You can definitely smell the grape when you open the package. The taste is more of a candy/bubblegum grape. But it’s not strong at all, it’s more of a mellow grape flavor that kind of hangs out in the background. I really like it :) and I’m happy I got the chance to try it! Thank you again, Amanda!
Thank you to The Tea Merchant for this generous and delicious sample! When I smelled this tea for some reason I thought it was going to be tart. But it is actually quite mellow. The first sip I was wondering where the fruit was, but as it cools the apricot/pear taste shines! It reminds me of apricot jam. It makes such a lovely cup too with a peachy, pinkish color. It is just as delicious cold too :) I’m happy I got to try this! I will definitely be ordering more (Plus I LOVED the packaging. I felt bad opening it..).
I have so much of this tea I decided to make a HUGE bottle of iced tea. All I can say is that it makes such a great iced tea. It’s minty and has a bit of a chocolate after taste. It’s really good hot too when you’re in the mood for it. That’s all really. The name pretty much explains it all. Chocolate mint goodness.
I saw this in a fellow steepsters cupboard and went.. “wait…what..?” I had no idea something the awesome could exist. I had to have it. So of course I went to redleaftea.com and looked through their matcha. I seriously couldn’t believe how many flavors they had. I didn’t even know there was such a thing like flavored matcha. Tea just got THAT much better.
Honestly I was afraid to order it. I didn’t know if it would be good or completely disgusting, but some reviews I read had really made it sound amazing. I finally got up the courage and ordered some of the Cola Matcha waited… and waited.. (Red Leaf actually shipped it pretty quickly. I ordered it Monday and received it Friday :D)
This morning I thought I’d give it a try. I opened the package and smelled it immediately. It smelled like those gummy cola candies you get at gas stations. YUM. So I mixed it all up, nice and frothy and took the first sip. Oh.. my.. goodness.. It actually does taste like cola. The thing I love is that you can still taste a matcha base after the cola. I feel like I can even get a little bit of the fizziness feeling like real cola.
Finding a matcha like this actually makes me really, really happy. I LOVE the flavor of cola but have trouble actually drinking it. The carbonation gives me tummy aches so to find something this good for you AND flavored like cola makes me one happy girl! If you like cola this is a must try for you! Here is a link to it :
This is SO good cold brewed. I was stuck at work with no hot water and in desperate need of an energy boost so I threw a few of these into my water bottle. At first it comes off as a spicy mate then the chocolate hits! It reminded me of chocolate milk but with a little bit of maltiness to it. DELICIOUS!!
