860 Tasting Notes
Thanks Ze_Teamaker! I’m having a serious laundry day and I saw the word ‘chocolate’, So I thought eh, why not? The smell of this lovely brew is very minty and herbal. That is exactly the flavor too. Except as it cools I’m getting more and more little hints of the dark chocolate. I really can’t decide if I like this or not. It’s got so much going on with it. I just can’t decide if I like the chamomile and chocolate together…. Hmmm….
When I saw that this tea had pine needles in it, it gained my interest. I did think that this was going to have a stronger pine needle taste to it but it’s actually quite mellow. The flavor is kind of buttery and has a crisp, outdoors thing going on. This tea reminds me of sitting in my tent waiting for the rain to stop then going outside into the crisp, cool, fresh air.
Thanks Jes for sending me this sample! This chai smells sweeter than other chai teas. Well I over steeped it so I added a bit of honey to smooth over the bitterness. It’s spicy but it’s very light. But overall I think I ruined it D: It’s still enjoyable, it’s just more sweet from the honey than the spiciness I wanted.
The description was right! This does brew up very dark. I thought it would be a little bit stronger but it’s just right! It’s very smooth and earthy with hints of something I just can’t put my finger on. It has a sweeter finish as it begins to cool.
This tea makes me think of horses. Like, horseback riding or hanging out in the stables. If I were to go horseback riding I would definitely take a tumbler full of this wonderful pu-erh. It just fits :]
