15 Tasting Notes

Countess Grey from Fortnum & Mason
90

This is certainly one of my favourites.

I was in London a few weeks ago, and went to one of my “tea heavens”—Fortnum & Mason. I picked up this gem and let me tell you, it’s pretty perfect.

It’s slightly citrus-y, complemented by bergamot. The nice thing about this one is that the citrus-bergamot flavoures don’t overpower the tea. Seriously, this is one well balanced blend.

Happy to have it in my cupboard now, so I have a little cup of London every morning!

Brazillionaire from DAVIDsTEA
45

I typically like nutty teas (was quite the fan of Forever Nuts at a point), but I find this to be a bit too much for me. To be fair, I am the person who picks around the Brazil nuts in the nut mix and goes straight for the cashews, so it’s no surprise I’m not a big fan of this tea. I find the Brazil nut flavour is too strong, and after having it a few times, that it tasty almost…musty.
Overall, not the worst experience, but not a tea I’d drink again.

Peppermint Amour (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
94

The perfect peppermint tea. I think I become more relaxed before even tasting it—just smelling this one in my cup puts me at ease. If you’ve ever had fresh peppermint tea, you know this is pretty darn close to the “real thing.”

Happy Kombucha from DAVIDsTEA
79

Love this tea! The fruity flavours are light, and so the tea is not too sweet. Perfect everyday tea, especially nice in the evening. Plus it has the added benefits of Kombucha—a known cold-fighter. Drink up!

Stormy Night (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
42

I found this tea to be quite unremarkable. Besides a mishmash of flavours, cinnamon was the only one I could identify. It tastes similar to DavidsTea’s Forever Nuts, but much weaker. Overall—“meh.”

Pumpkin Chai from DAVIDsTEA
37

Not a bad tea per se, but artificial tasting in my opinion. The pumpkin flavour is nice, but does not taste genuine. The chai component is too weak, however, if brewed strong enough, makes a decent tea latté.

Glitter & Gold from DAVIDsTEA
76

A slightly spicy, sweet treat. Cinnamon and light cove tastes stand out the most, but are complemented by the sweetness of the sugar crystals in the tea. Overall an easy drink, but not an everyday tea for me.

Read My Lips from DAVIDsTEA
92

Love this tea. Minty and slightly chocolate-y, a great, light, afternoon tea. I appreciate that the chocolate notes are not as artificial tasting as other teas claiming to be “chocolate.” Quite addicting. Best taken clear.

Jungle Ju Ju from DAVIDsTEA
94

I’ve only ever had this iced, but I really enjoyed it. Tastes mildly fruity, but ends with a slight vanilla flavour. Guayusa was a new experience, found it left me very energetic and feeling great. Would certainly have this tea again.

Buttered Rum (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
83
Pink Flamingo from DAVIDsTEA
89

Not a fan of this hot, but makes a great iced tea. I like to cut up some lemon and leave it in there while the tea steeps. Like most iced teas, I would brew this one pretty strong initially. Great for summer.

Forever Nuts from DAVIDsTEA
60

Very good hot with a bit of honey. Tastes a bit like one would picture liquid oatmeal tasting. But better.
I had this strange idea that it would be delicious cold with milk. I was very wrong. Do not try it.
Love the colour, love that it’s a bit nutty. Am always tempted to eat the tea leaves when I see them.

Himalayan Traveller's Tea (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
100

A bit grassy and certainly for those who appreciate a lighter black tea. Best without milk, but fabulous with a small dash. A new (absolute) favourite.

Jasmine Green Tea from President's Choice
75

A great floral tea for people who don’t like florals—really mild, and great with some honey. Tastes like Spring.

The Earl's Garden from DAVIDsTEA
68

Good hot, but WONDERFUL as an iced tea. A little fruitier than I normally like, but still a great Grey.
