5 Tasting Notes

Boulder Blues from The Tea Spot
25

The label says “gourmet green tea” but it has many non-tea ingredients. Should state on the front that it is a very floral infusion.

Also, I’ve found it impossible to brew without a bitter, almost acrid, aftertaste. The aroma is fruity and wonderful, but the aftertaste is unpleasant.

Wuyi Oolong from Rishi Tea

Mildly smokey, or peat flavored. A drinkable tea, especially on a cold winter day.

Snow Buds (Xue Ya) from Rishi Tea
75

One of the few so-called premium teas I can find here in Colorado Springs (at whole foods). Wonderfully nutty flavored, with no bitterness. One of my favorite all day teas.

YMY 1960 Genmai Green from Stash Tea Company

Yes it’s a bag tea. But, for drinking at work, on the go, this has good flavor.
