Another tea from Awkward Soul. This tea tastes a lot like 52Teas’ Walter Bishop Honeybush to me. I’m getting a very milkshake-y type taste, although this is definitely not as sweet and bright. I’m getting strawberry milkshake, but a rich one (the pu’er?).

I like this one…it is intriguing, and just has different levels. I get the milkshake/malt/cream at the aftertaste.

I also used more leaf, since I didn’t have enough for 2 servings from the sample.

Another in a swap from Awkward Soul. This tea doesn’t have a WOW! factor, but is a good stable tea. I can taste the base (with a little astringency), and the toffee/caramel flavor. It tasted better when it was hot. As it is cooling, the toffee/caramel/nut flavor is on the back of the sip (instead of more on the front).

Drinking this from a swap with AwkwardSoul. I really like this tea! It is delicate tasting, and the peach flavor is NOT overpowering. I read the review on this tea as I was drinking it, and it does taste like a white peach, not like a regular peach. The tea base is just right…a black tea would not have done this tea justice.

Fruity and a bit floral…this tea is a very good start-to-the-week tea.

I don’t know the last time I had iced tea, but I guarantee you it was from a mix and not real tea.

I’m getting my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday, and stocking up on really soft foods. I read that neither hot stuff (like hot tea) nor soda isn’t going to go over well, so I decided to make a pitcher of one of the iced teas to have on hand for when I want something to drink! I decided to make a pitcher of the Razzleberry.

I steeped the large teabag twice, and added enough water/ice to make a gallon of iced tea. I thought this was pretty good tea, and will definitely be refreshing as I recuperate. I have another pouch (I got pouches of iced tea as part of the Kickstarter campaign) of Razzleberry, but I’ll be wanting to try one of the other ones first! I’d buy this again.

First tea to try in a swap box I just got. At first, I really tasted the berry flavor! Wow…that must be what an elderberry tastes like! At the back is a chocolate flavor…I’d have to say a weak dark chocolate.

As I keep drinking it, the berry flavor is subsiding. I’m not sure I’m tasting any tea base. It’s not a bad tea, but not sure I’d buy it over and over, either.

drank Sakura Black by Souvia

This is one of the first teas that I’m having in a long time that doesn’t have flavoring. I want to try more teas that have not a chemical flavor (either natural or artificial), but just tea and something (if that makes sense).

This Sakura Black was at the tea shop when I went last week. They’re only selling it by the ounce, and pre-packaged. It smells really good in the package…definitely a different type of cherry-smell coming out of the package. So, I forked over the $8.99 for it (which was definitely expensive!).

The tea is a light brown color. I carefully added the liquid stevia, and I’m pretty sure I added less than I usually do. I don’t really care for tea straight, and always sweeten it. I figure I should ENJOY what I’m drinking, eh? There is a very subtle cherry flavor. The tea base is not too strong and is not bitter at all. I really only get the subtle cherry in the aftertaste.

I feel like the exquisiteness of it might be lost on me, but I’m enjoying what I’m drinking, and will have to re-steep soon. Also, keep in mind that I’m at work, and have to use the hot water that they provide. Although it comes from the same machine as the coffee makers, it doesn’t share the same spout, so it never tastes like coffee, but I’m sure it’s not at boiling (although it is fairly hot, even with the coffee sleeve on the cup).

I’m looking forward to re-steeping…maybe more of the cherry will come out?

More of the cherry did come out as it cooled, and in the second steeping.

Not tasting the chili this morning, but liking the chocolate. I bet the second steeping will be different. I might have understeeped it too, at 3:45. Still amazed that the steeping time has so much to do with the flavor!

drank Persian Lime by Souvia

I tried this tea for the first time today. It is a seasonal blend, and I don’t remember seeing it before. I really LOVE lime, and I liked the first steeping of this tea. I thought the lime taste really came through.

However, it was non-existent in the second steeping. The bag still smelled like lime, but there was no flavor in the second steeping of lime. Since I HAD to get 50g of tea (they only serve it in 50g increments)…I’ll have a lot more of it to see if I can get that second steeping to work.

I can taste the cinnamon a little more clearly now that the tea has cooled down. This tea tastes thick. I should have sweetened it less, I think…a nice overall tea, but not anything special.

The tea tastes weaker than I would expect. I think I should have added more leaf, but I didn’t have that much in the sample. I originally had it steep for 3 1/2 minutes, and then added another minute. It still tastes weak, and if it were stronger, I think it would be really, really good.
