Pu Erh Poe from Adagio Teas
34

Let me start by saying this; Very interesting….

Dry Smell: Like fresh horse poop.

Wet: when water was first added it smelled like rancid fish, after it finished steeping it smelled similar to musty cucumber water.

It tastes like cucumber water. Very strong cucumber water that also happens to have a little bit of a bit in it. I don’t really like cucumber or cucumber water at all, so this is… Well interesting. Could have been worse though, but it could have been a lot better. Might steep it again later and see how it is though.

Lol, that is some description. It may be a storage issue. A few years ago I had Adagio’s ‘Yunnan Golden Pu Erh’… expensive and awful. Smelled like dried fermented fish, once I poured water into it it was fishy and musky.

I had this in the beginning of my journey. Sour. I’d suggest that if you can’t hack it, steep longer, add cream and sugar and see if you like it as a latte. If not. Adios. Sometimes you can’t salvage what isn’t very good. But, if I had stopped here I wouldn’t have discovered that I love shu pu-erh. There’s a world of great non-fishy pu-erh to drink!

Mehhh I wasn’t big on this one. Tasted too fishy without the depth of flavor I want from a pu’erh.

Yeah I was hoping for something good from this since I have had other pu’erh that have been heavenly. Though I figure I’ll just never get pu’erh from Adagio again since I had the one from their masters collection and that…. well lets just say I am glad I didn’t spend money on this or that one.

Bio

Well, to start, my name is Matt. I got into loose leaf tea my sophomore year in college two years ago. I was drinking some lipton tea in my room when I started thinking to myself that there has to be something more then just bagged tea. So I decided to do a web search and found out about loose leaf (you would think that this would have been an obvious thing but surprisingly it was not). I stumbled across a local tea cafe called Argo tea and decided to try it out. Long story short, I fell in love. From this one store I have started to branch out to all different types of tea from several different stores.

My favorit tea is very hard to choose since I like pretty much everything there is that I have tried. I have recently started getting into pu’erh teas, which is getting to be interesting. I am always looking for new a greater tastes when it comes to tea and am trying to better express my experiences with tea.

Aside from tea I am an actor in the Chicago area. I do mostly theatre and various film projects through out the Midwest. I recently started doing Voiceover work, which I have to say is very fun and easy going.

My number ratings are more random then anything. Since I have no idea half the time when I move the slider on the happy face meter what number will be showing up.
