I have no words that haven’t already been said about this tea. It’s just…. Wow.
94 Tasting Notes
This is the second of two Dragonwell samples I was sent by Teavivre.
This one was a little sweeter then the first one I tried and seemed to have a more balanced flavor profile. The only negative thing I can think to say about this is that I wasn’t able to get as many steeps out of the leaves as I did with the other one. Though the steeps I did get were very good.
So…. I’m a little in love with this tea right now. Here is why.
There is a nice sweetness to this tea, which is typical of this type, but still I love it.
There is also a nice grassy/floral note that really helps to balance out the sweetness of the tea.
It resteeps very well. I lost count of the times I was able to reuse this.
Finally, it looks really cool and calming while it steeps.
In close, I love Dragonwell and this is one I like.
So, this is my own blend and I might be a little biased…. Scratch that, I am biased.
The look of this tea is just beautiful, a wonderful mix of colors. The taste is a balance between the sweetness of the silver needle and the oatmeal taste of the camomile. This does exactly as it should and relaxes the hell out of you. Everyone should drink this.
Yes, I am being conceited.
Another tea I got while waiting. I liked this one a little more then the Dragon Well. There was a nice light jasmine flavor that wasn’t too obtrusive. You could also still taste the light flavor of the green tea that was sort of grassy and sweet. Complimented my hummus and veggie plate very nicely.
Got this at a small cafe while waiting for the gas company to turn off my gas service. It’s not the best Dragon Well tea I’ve had but it’s not bad. There is a nice sweet grass taste to it with a nice light mouth feel. This woke me up nicely and complemented my reading rather well.
Wow. It’s been awhile since I last reviewed anything.
I like this tea. I don’t love it but there is something endearing about it to me. There is a fresh grassy taste that can be a little strong at times but usually isn’t too intrusive. It actually reminds me of Matcha only with out the consumption of the powdered leaf. I would really enjoy drinking this on a nice temperate day during the spring. Maybe one day the weather will get to that point.
Backlog from last night. This is a very sweet tea and I feel like it would make a nice refreshing iced tea. I enjoyed the first steeping of it more then the few that followed after, most likely because the sugar that they obviously added to the blend was all used up the first time through. Enjoyable though, even though I prefer plain tea.
I think there might be something wrong with batch of this tea…. It looks like dirty dish water. I mean, it’s like I went to a restaurant, entered the kitchen at the end of the night, and took some of the dishwater. That or like it came from a bucket of water mop water. It tastes about the same as this too. It’s funny though, since it looked so appealing until I poured water over it. Oh, well got it as part of a gift set for 75% off regular price and my parents paid for it, so I’ll finish it.
Nice little white tea. There is a light semi-sweet flavor that I haven’t encountered too often in most of the white tea’s I have tried.
Oddly, I loved this better then most other Jasmine scented teas. The smell is very intense, which could be off putting, but with this one I just didn’t mind. The taste is fantastic to me. You taste the Jasamine yet you can still taste the green tea underneath.
So I just got home from visiting family and found a lovely package filled with tea from Infussion Tea! This one smelled the most interesting so I decided, why not? It tastes pretty much how it smells, which is like some sort of red wood. It’s not bitter or anything and the taste is rather nice, it’s similar to something that you would find in a dry rub for chicken or beef. I wanna just chew on some for some reason, and I just might.
So this was a fun one. I did 2 steeps of this which was fine since that is all I was planning on doing with this. The first one ended up very light and the pearls didn’t open fully yet. It tasted fine to me, a little light but still tasted fine. Now the second one is where things hit the fan. While waiting for my water I took one of the half opened pearls out and unraveled it. It was burnt in the middle. This is the point I realized this next steeping was dangerous. I steeped up the tea still, because why not. The liquid was slightly brown like someone mixed black tea and white tea together. Now the taste… The taste was like someone burnt silver needle tea, which is exactly what happened since the middle of almost all of these were burnt. So my conclusion is that I would drink this again only if I were to throw out the tea before it opened up all the way.
So, this is enjoyable. I have had better but for the most part this passes as something I would get again from Teavana if I had no other choice.
Been awhile since I reviewed something, mostly since I am visiting my parents and they drink different tea then me. On the plus side the Teavana near my parents was having a sale on everything in store, not just the Heavenly sale items. So they kindly picked me up a few large containers of tea, apparently for 75% off the original price.
I have had better green tea then this before but for something from Teavana, it’s not bad. It has a very very light flavor that is not bad and it smells a little like Chicken Noodle Soup. I would probably steep this longer myself, since I like to have a stronger flavor some times. Would get this again though, probably not as much as they got me since it’s going to take me a long time to use all of this hahaha.
Ricecake!!!!! That is what I get from this, that or rice cereal that isn’t very sweetened in almond milk. I love it and it makes me feel full.
I got a pot of this while eating out with my dad today after he helped me move a few things. It was very good. Nice grassy taste with a little bit of sweetness to it.
Dry Smell: Coffee
Wet Smell: Chocolate Coffee.
There is a muted chocolate flavor and very little spice to this. It’s a little weak all around actually, which is a little sad. I would like to try it in maybe some milk or something since it would be possibly nice as a hot chocolate type things. I don’t know though.
Dry Smell: like a fruit rollup.
Wet Smell: Like snow peas.
Tastes like snow peas. Maybe grass as well. Not bad I’ve never had Gyokuro before but it’s nice I think I might like Sencha Better though.
So I ordered a ton of Japanese green tea to try out in my new Kyusu that I bought myself for destroying finals.
Dry Smell: Smells like fruit leather, strawberry fruit leather.
Wet Smell: Smells like Matcha with a little bit of sugar.
So I rather enjoyed this as my first Japanese green tea (outside of Matcha). It pretty much tasted just like Matcha only a little sweeter then I’m used to. It tasted nice and clean and distinctly different from how Chinese green tea tends to taste.
So my note got deleted….. I dont really remember what I said but this is good…. Wish I drank it sooner, like after I got it. I guess thats it, I might post tomorrow when I’m awake.
So first a story of how I received this tea. Today I had my last final for class where I got certified in unarmed stage combat and broadsword, as well as getting certified with recommendation for rapier and dagger. Since I did so well and because I rocked all my other finals, I decided to get myself a little gift. The Adagio I frequent just got in several Kyusu and I figured if I’m gonna reward myself it might as well be tea related. So I went in, saw some of my friends who work there and picked out a nice Kyusu for myself. To my surprise it ended up being expensive, $136 to be exact. To make me feel better about paying so much, since I didn’t have any points or anything, my friends decided to throw in a lot of samples. This happened to be one of them and it has been one I wanted for a long time.
Now to the tea….
Smell Dry: sort of sweet and veggitabally.
Wet Smell: like wet leaves after fresh rain. There is still some sweetness to the smell as well as a little smoke.
Taste: Rather lovely. There is a mix of taste similar to gunpowder and dragonwell.
Tastes like nothing…. reminds me why I drink loose leaf. It might be good but I am not picking up anything and I have been steeping it for about 2 hours. Oh well, at least it was free.
Had this as my morning tea today. Was good as usual, though today there was a little more smokyness then there usually is. Wasn’t a bad thing like with Lapsang but was just a little surprising.
