As I have commented before, I know if I were trying this tea for the first time my rating would be a lot lower but it is inexpensive and it is an old friend. I was talking with an old friend yesterday who was excited about opening a new can of Twinings Earl Grey and Lady Grey. It made me realize I do not have a single straight black Earl Grey in my collection anywhere. He shamed me for getting so far from my roots. I repented and bought a 200 g tin of this today for $8.
I have been exceedingly busy since Friday. Hardly even had time for tea. I helped my wife with her craft show booth (American Girl type clothes). I helped with a concert at church on Sunday. Monday was a sad day – we had our 16 year old cat Lucky euthanized. What a hard drive to town. He had feline aids and was wasting away. He was down to 5 pounds. Watching him suffering just got too hard. Of course my wife started second guessing her decision afterwards so I tried keeping her busy so she wouldn’t dwell on the decision. I had more band stuff on Tuesday, and today it was gorgeous outside so I took my wife shopping (so I could buy tea – see full circle).
Got home moments ago and immediately made a cup of Earl Grey. I am home and in my happy place.

so sorry about Lucky. the cat i grew up with was named Lucky and when she passed away a few years after i graduated from college i was devastated.
and i so know what you mean about old friend teas you know you wouldn’t rate the way you do if not for nostalgia! i have a bunch like that. love ’em.
Condolences about Lucky – it’s one of the hardest things to do, isn’t it? But he had a good, long life and I’m sure he was very well-loved by you, and that’s something to treasure. hugs
Thank you all for the comments. Lucky was rescued at just a few weeks of age by a kind vet worker who saw him being tossed in the air by a dog. The name stuck.
I am four days late seeing this but give your wife a hug from me and tell her to stop second guessing. You guys gave your sweet kitty a good life, love, and a peaceful end and I believe with all my heart you did exactly the right and loving thing. Hugs.
Sorry about your cat…that is rough :(

Comfort tea couldn’t be more appropriate right now.
