The in-laws strike again! And a significant number of my drinks yesterday were decidedly Not Tea (St. Paddy’s)….the wife and I are going on a bit of a Detox binge. This has become my go-to tea, it’s so delicious, I’m happy to sit here and sip it all day.

The beau and I enjoyed green beer last night, and detox this morning as well : )

ps – I intend to re-steep the “leaves” when I get home to see if it really does re-steep well! (in my opinion, that is :D)

Ha! We went by DT while I was still mostly tipsy and got a tin of detox with the pretty green label. I love resteeping the heck out of it, but I also resteep black teas, which is apparently a huge no-no so shrug I am not to be trusted ;)

I also re-steep black teas…I like the way you think! However, I do use way less tea to liquid than directions suggest, and go for a longer steeping, most of the time. I’d rather get more delicious cups than fewer quick cups.

I’m getting a little excited now about this re-steep when I get home, hopefully my leaves weren’t thrown out by the beau as they sometimes are. Although it would only be an excuse to brew another pot of it…

I could drink Detox for days and not tire of it! And I’m with you on the less leaves/longer steep thing. Makes the tea last longer too! I’m in no rush.

drank Coffee Pu'erh by DAVIDsTEA

This tea is delicious! I could happily wake each morning to a cup of this. It’s coffee without being overwhelmingly so. I don’t really have a flavor in mind to compare it to, I just know I’m really enjoying it and if definitely worth trying if you’re an excoffee drinker OR if you just plain enjoy different teas.

I think I’ve just been overwhelmed by choice lately, and tea just…I don’t know, I haven’t been craving it like I usually do, and nothing I made tasted quite right or hit the spot.

Until this tea. I love peaches. I can’t say it enough, I love, love, love peaches. As a girl raised in Tennessee, which is darn close to Georgia, I could never get enough of peaches. Drinking this has me ready for summer and sun tea and the sweet tea I keep in the fridge that my wife won’t touch. Reminds me of home and hot Southern summers. Makes me long for a big plate of barbeque…I love this tea.

Tea

Mmm… This is making me want peach cobbler!

Used a super yummy cup of this in my Scott Pilgrim Shepard’s Pie today and it turned out delicious! I love using this tea for gravies, it just makes it all the better.

Labels? Here you go: Femme, Wife, Lesbian, Homemaker, Happy. Don’t forget tea fanatic!

New label as of May, 2015: Diabetic. I’m using tea to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings and keep me hydrated without hurting my system or messing with my blood sugar.

Ah, tea. My love for you is ever changing. At my last update, I was all about the rooibos and now I hardly drink it. I only occasionally had an oolong and now I have one just about every day. I’ve learned the art of resteeping and coldbrewing and kombucha. I have a lovely little tea pet named…well, I haven’t decided on a name for him yet. I also have five! live pets, a tabby cat named Rosabella Francis (Bella for short), a ginger cat named Orange Julius Pekoe (Pekoe), a white and grey cat named Earl Jean Grey (Earlie), a tuxedo cat (and the only boy in the house) Prince Erik Darien Darjeeling (JiJi) and a red foot tortoise named Da Hong Pao (Pao). So if you see me referring to my girls, I don’t have kids, just animals.

As for tea, I love oolongs, herbals, and black tea. Since I am no longer working, I no longer feel the constant need for a mate energy boost, though I do still reach for it from time to time. I also drink less matcha, though I do throw a spoonful or two in when I’m making smoothies. Most of my tea I drink coldbrewed, and since I discovered coldbrewed rooibos was giving me headaches, I’m drinking less and less of it. Straight pu-erh is not a thing I enjoy, but there are a few flavored blends I like. Greens are still too finicky for me to bother with hot, but they make great cold brews.

I am by no means a tea purist. I greatly enjoy flavored teas and I put stevia in all of my teas. It’s just how I do.

I think I’m going to name my tea pet Mr. Turtle. Even though he’s a tortoise.
