We ordered the Scott Pilgrim sampler set and the Town We Do Not Speak Of Or Acknowledge sampler set. I’m going to go through each of them alphabetically.

Oh Scott Pilgrim, I love you. I fell in love with the graphic novels and then when the movie came out, we saw it three times in theaters. I loved seeing places around Toronto that I know well. Hell, we were at Honest Ed’s just this weekend! It kills me to think of it being closed down soon.

Anyway, on to Envy, one of my favorite characters.

I like her! I love roasted mate and the sweet orange and cinnamon…yummy. I love a good mate blend and this is one I will definitely enjoy drinking down.

I need to keep an eye on your reviews…this was one of the other sampler sets i considered heh

I’m enjoying them, for sure, but the real reason to buy them is for the tins, which I freaking love. Some of the teas are good, but others aren’t so much. But I’ve tried six today and there’s only one I can’t bring myself to drink any more of (Knives Chau).

Sil

that’s why i bought the dr who sampler…the tins lol

So I finally got my Adagio order today (yay!) but I have to say I’m not terribly impressed (boo!). The tins are in no way airtight and every last one of them leaked. I am covered in tea from opening the boxes. A few of the blends don’t even look blended and I have to practically shove my nose in the tea to smell any kind of scent. However, I purchased these knowing full well I’m not a huge fan of Adagio teas and I basically purchased them for the tins, so in that aspect I am very happy. I’m now just kind of looking at it as I purchased some sweet tins that just happened to come with free tea. But I don’t think I’ll be ordering again.

We picked this one out because, well, my wife is my sugar daddy XD. Also, this blend is right up her alley, a green blend with orange and ginseng? She’s gonna love it.

It’s fairly good. It tastes healthy in a good way. I don’t quite know how to describe it, but it is good. If you like ginseng, give it a whirl.

TeaLady441

Oh no – your poor tins! I had the same thing with mine too – not a lot of leaf mixed, but some and if they’re not sealed that tightly, how much cross-contamination of odors can I expect? :O But yes – we basically bought tins that had free tea! That’s exactly how I see it.

Daddyselephant

I love that they recommend reusing the tins to take tea on the go with you. There’s no way in hell I’m putting a leaky tin of tea in my purse, we all know it’s going to explode open.

I had another cup of this last night because I was having some tummy trouble and because I just plain enjoy it. I don’t know if they still carry it and I’m afraid to look because this sipdown could turn into a restock very easily. But I will try to resist and hope that when I cave, it isn’t available. 1 cup of this left and then it is out of my cupboard for a sad goodbye.

Yay sipdown! 393/403.

I usually prefer my herbals cold, but I’m eager to get this one out of my cupboard. Maybe I’ll have half hot and put the rest in the fridge.

Or maybe I’ll just chug this and not put myself through a second sitting of this. It’s not so great. First of all, I don’t like how the website only lists some of the ingredients. There is definitely fennel and hibiscus in this, but they aren’t listed. Anyway, it’s a bit creamy, but it’s just…okay. Not something I’m sad to see go.

I was eyeing this for a sipdown, but there’s enough for at least two more cups, boooo. But I really enjoy it, so I’m not that upset. It’s full of yummy berries and earthy pu-erh. I have a sore throat (thanks, mother in law), and this is soothing it wonderfully.

drank Detox by DAVIDsTEA

So hanging out with my bestie turned in to drinking what she dyed my hair (my pink tips are back, yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!). And then playing drinking games.

What I’m saying is, I was painfully hung over for Family Day yesterday. This tea was definitely needed and definitely helpful.

This accompanied me back to Etobicoke to pick up my bestie and bring her back to show her the new place. The cold brew was amazing. It’s like Tropicalia with an edge. Definitely going on my wishlist to restock, but for now it’s out of my cupboard!

drank Blueberry by The Tea Haus

This is a nice blueberry tea, tasty enough, but it just doesn’t compare to Blueberry Jam from DavidsTea. So I used the last of this for a cold brew and I just won’t be replacing it. But it wasn’t hard to drink this down.

Hello.Kiki

I’ve been looking for a nice blueberry tea and Blueberry Jam keeps coming up a lot…

Daddyselephant

Blueberry Jam is amazingly good.

drank Black Night by Red Leaf Tea

This tea reminds me how much I love just straight black teas. This is also a sipdown! 372 with tea/382 with teaware. We’re trying to establish a one in, one out in regards to buying new tea, so I’m trying to make up for the 50 new teas we’ve ordered in the last few weeks. This is lovely, but I have so much Nepal black and other straight black teas that I don’t feel the need to replace it. It’s sweet and bracing and yummy.

I had a bite of my wife’s square of this chocolate and it was so, so yummy. I love the vanilla flavor coming through the chocolate and even the bergamot isn’t a turn off. All in all, a very lovely bite. Again, I wish it wasn’t dark chocolate, but this almost makes me forget that.

Sil

hmmmm so the blergamot isn’t bad?

Daddyselephant

Nope, and I’m not a fan of bergamot.

Sil

good to know :) might have to check this one out

Daddyselephant

I think it’s definitely worth a try, if only to say you’ve tried it, you know?

Formerly aisling of tea, now you can call me ele .

“You can forgive a murder, but never a mistake while preparing tea.” Chinese proverb

Labels? Here you go: Femme, Wife, Lesbian, Homemaker, Happy. Don’t forget tea fanatic!

New label as of May, 2015: Diabetic. I’m using tea to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings and keep me hydrated without hurting my system or messing with my blood sugar.

Ah, tea. My love for you is ever changing. At my last update, I was all about the rooibos and now I hardly drink it. I only occasionally had an oolong and now I have one just about every day. I’ve learned the art of resteeping and coldbrewing and kombucha. I have a lovely little tea pet named…well, I haven’t decided on a name for him yet. I also have five! live pets, a tabby cat named Rosabella Francis (Bella for short), a ginger cat named Orange Julius Pekoe (Pekoe), a white and grey cat named Earl Jean Grey (Earlie), a tuxedo cat (and the only boy in the house) Prince Erik Darien Darjeeling (JiJi) and a red foot tortoise named Da Hong Pao (Pao). So if you see me referring to my girls, I don’t have kids, just animals.

As for tea, I love oolongs, herbals, and black tea. Since I am no longer working, I no longer feel the constant need for a mate energy boost, though I do still reach for it from time to time. I also drink less matcha, though I do throw a spoonful or two in when I’m making smoothies. Most of my tea I drink coldbrewed, and since I discovered coldbrewed rooibos was giving me headaches, I’m drinking less and less of it. Straight pu-erh is not a thing I enjoy, but there are a few flavored blends I like. Greens are still too finicky for me to bother with hot, but they make great cold brews.

I am by no means a tea purist. I greatly enjoy flavored teas and I put stevia in all of my teas. It’s just how I do.

I think I’m going to name my tea pet Mr. Turtle. Even though he’s a tortoise.
